I had this same problem, and it ended up beeing that little plastic cam that the bearing sits in, onthe top deck I hadn't puched it in all the way, make sure both the top and bottom ones are squished in all the way.

all the way it caused a slight amount of binding in the steering linkage.
It looks like the standoff screws are fine but the 2 center screws bend the top deck just slightly.
The servo saver is all the way in both the top and bottom bearing.
I thought I would try 2 thin shims & see if that prevented the top deck from bending over the bulkhead.
Anyone else notice this? I don't think I made any construction mistakes but it is always possible.
Like I said it is a slight binding and may not cause servo problems but I think it might wear out gears faster.
thx,
Basement still not finished
fk05 almost finished--- well starting the joy of shock building!

You know I looked at that last night.
I checked to see if they were flush with the opposite side. I didn't however see if it was pushed it allllll the way on both top and bottom.
Thanks--- will check tonight.

I just picked up the 05 battery brace. Why would they put knockouts in the standoff's if they don't even make contact with the cells?!? It's like they're using up the old Xray parts with this battery strap. I really tell ya that I think we're (The consumer and racers) getting jipped, mostly when this part cost close to $40.00. This upsets me.

Call me a perfectionist, but as howie said, $40 buys a lot of tape, and this issue will probably cause me to sell this battery brace at my local track this weekend and use tape from now on. My .02 cents.

So it looks like I need to purchase a 16t pinion gear?? I am almost done building the car and I need to get a pinion gear. I am a newb at this so go easy. I bought the Monster Stock Pro motor and I have the 84t spur gear that came with the kit. I will be racing on an ashpalt track that is sort of medium in layout 'slow/fast' - 'tight/flowing' type of track (it's just a mixture of things).
Should I get any other pinion gears or spur gears?
Would this be ok?
