For all the people whining about it *only * having the 2.5mm chassis witht he US spec car...have you tried it yet?
the car is actually quite rigid....and running on foams seems to be very fast and predictable...I've shaved .2s off my previous best lap first night out. Another local racer improved his best by over a lap..again..first night out.
The moral of the story is PLEASE quit complaining until youeither try or witness the cars in use.....they really are rather impressive

I wish people would stop pulling the whole "How do you know it doesn't work despite the fact its true ON EVERY CAR PREVIOUSLY RELEASED, This case might be different!!" crap. Its poor logic and it gets old

i wish the car came with the batt straps but its not a big deal. if you look most pros tape batts in place anyway, i think there is alot of lazy people out there that just like to complane. as far as the fk04 to the fk05 , you can tell the car handles better from the first time you run it, but not out of this world difference. would i sell my old car for the new one again, i don't know. they both are better cars than whats out there . don't think you can go wrong with either one.

There is more that goes into a car's design and overall performance than merely the thickness of the Carbon fibre components.
I'm not saying that the 3.0mm chassis and wide top deck will not improve the car. What i'm saying is that out of the box it will already be better than what you are used to.
Don't knock it until you try it

I ran EVO2 for many years and am very happy with it. Recently I have moved to FK05 and I am quite happy with it except one thing...........the spur gear, it make me crazy and feel upset with the car. Firstly, it is so painful to change the spur gear, I have to remove the whole rear drive train to just replace the spur......Secondly, NONE of my previous spur gear can fit into the car except the 84T comes with the kit........I have invest so much $$ on the spur at the old day (including 48P & 64P) and none of it can use anymore !! I don't understand why XRAY will make such a mistake (or may be they are intended to do so....). All my KAWADA, XENON, Altas, Yokomo, Altas gear need to dump away......
, even all my Kimbrough spur also can't be used since it is thicker than the one comes with the kit
Now I can't run the car because I am lack in spur gear !!!!! That is something I never think of it !!
Since I am located in HongKong, there is no PRS, Kimbrough gear here........even I order it from Europe, it will take times and may end up with EUR$8 for each spur (KAWADA,altas, yokomo only cost EUR$3 here)
Lastly, the spur comes with the kit is totally useless since it is far too soft.....the old kimbrough gear is already soft but the structure is still solid, now XRAY gear use the same material but there are so many hollow structure.....it end up with the softest spur gear in the world !!!!! what a sham !

Why do people make such a big deal about spur gears. I rarely ever change my spur, running foam mod. do you actually feel a difference with a different brand spur?
even with old 12th scale type spurs, you can always re drill the holes, will still be perfectly concentric die to the spur sitting tights on the layshaft.

actually changing spurs may seem to be difficult at first but once u get to change it a few times, u'll know how it can be done easily, not as fast as b4 but easy enuff.
but i do agree tat there's lesser compatible spurs available in the market to be used in fk05. if u notice, all jap makers have their spurs with 4 holes. the only available 3 holes spurs are PRS, Kimbrough, Speedmind, RW racing (tink u nd to drill 2 holes for rw).
or u can mod ur existing 4 holes spurs (eg. kawada...) by drilling another 2 holes. my fren done tat & it is working wif no problems.
forgive me for saying tis, but the aftermarkets are much better than the stock ones
