Stap an Aerotech "K" motor on that thing, and I guarantee it will go faster than 200mph

The Xo-1 is fast there's no argument there but like mentioned above no one has been able to document more than 106mph on the street. i "think" traxxas did 131mph on their little dyno deal they had at the RC expo but that's not real world conditions etc..

You might as well quit your grade school comebacks and get out there and drive this on film at 153 mph on GPS, and you know what? You will get congratulated. Until then as long as you keep tossing DONKEY and NEXT at everyone who posts in here doubting your claim all you are gonna get is people riding you and calling BS.

Prove us wrong.
even if i did you guys will ALWAYS come up with a bashing remark, but i guess this is what i have to deal with when i am dealing with kids here. i just showed it to adults on another forum and i got nothing put praise, so i am going back there, goodbye kiddy trolls

Not sure why I'm posting...maybe because I'm interested or maybe it's because I have a XO-1 and it doesn't go that fast...and let me tell you I've tried!

Anyone heard about Team Associated and their trek to 200mph???? They have a seriously overpriced speed run car dedicated to going 200mph. I think, at this point, they've spent a TON of man hours working on it and only hit a top speed of 168ish. That's only 15mph faster than this XO-1. Maybe they should re-think their platform.

http://www.teamassociated.com/multim...to_200_Update/

My guess is that the car was on a workbench with zero load and zero wind resistance on it. Spooled up for a second or two could post a pretty high speed. I'm going outside to try this test. Expect a 200mph video in a couple hours.

Update:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

As Rcchopper continues make claims with out any evidence I have been looking into this and discovered someone who is working on a water cooled 8 cell XO-1.

Based on this math (taken from another forum...)

s1 = old top speed
s2 = new top speed
h1 = old horsepower
h2 = new horsepower

s2 = (h2/h1)^1/3 * s1

Top Speed Calculator

...the theoretical top speed of an 8 cell XO-1 could be north of 125mph! (assuming the increase in voltage would proportionally equal an increase in motor output and the math above is accurate). This guy has probably added another 2 - 4 lbs to his XO-1 so I don't believe it will go that high. But it might be close. Also note that the stock speed control has been replaced with another rated for 8 cell use.

Guessing after his 153mph bench run he is busy trying to JB Weld his new 25 piece rotor back together. It will be a real disappointment if he can only manage 149mph after the fix.

RCChopper,

Congratulations on your achievement. With 8s, your claim of 153mph is possible.

I have a page compilation of the fastest rc cars with videos of cars running. Summary:

12s = 161mph
10s = 157mph
6s = 135mph

So 8s would fall in the 150mph range.

Some cool videos there, but note that any of them that show someone HOLDING a radar gun cannot but dealt with as 100% accurate. Any movement of a radar gun causes something called cosign error, a calculation that changes the speed shown on the gun.

Sure, cops hold them, but WATCH a cop hold it. Super steady, feet planted and the thing ain't movin'.

Probably one of the more accurate ones (other than the ones at the drag strip using the full scale timing system), is this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By7vq...ature=youtu.be

The most accurate ones are the ones where the video camera is mounted looking AT the speed gun as the car passes. That's the only way Guiness accepts them so that should be the only way it can be claimed.

Just my 2c.

Hi, RCChopper claims he has done it, it's his thread. With 8s it is very possible so I have no reason to doubt (proof or no proof). Other videos on youtube show this can be done (albeit with other cars).

Not sure why people called it BS (on the first page) even before asking RCChopper for video proof of his car running. My opinion is 8S (unloaded) would give higher reading than 153mph. And 8S (loaded) is about right at 153mph. Based on that I'm inclined to believe his claim. But of course a video of the car running would be nice.

It's no biggie. If fake, who cares. Plenty of other fast cars we can watch on youtube.
