Default SMC 4000mah True Spec Extreme batteries

Does anyone have experience with these, must be the purple extreme ones not the blue ones? I need 3 good batteries for a big race I'm attending running 3 stock classes. What's the general opinion on them? I'd like to keep them for a while too so please lmk how they've lasted for you.

They puff very easily, and this is without any crazy 30-40 amp discharge cycling. switched to fantom packs and no puffing issues at all.

Spend a little more and save yourself the headaches.

As mentioned above, they work well but they are not going to last you a long while. I believe they even mention the batteries volatility on their website. These are meant more for speed runs and continuous high discharge will lead to premature failures.

I am running two of these batteries in my B64 and B6 spec racers.

5 minute qualifiers and 6 minute mains
Charging at 10 Amps (Hitec X2)

After 6 minute mains:
B64 - Discharge to 3.82 per cell
B6 - Discharge to 3.86 per cell

I only have three races on each battery so too early to get a read on puffing and how long they will last but am happy with them so far.
