I've drained a 6000mah battery in around 8 minutes with a boosted 5.5 outdoors on a larger flowing track.

Low turn motors can draw a lot of power. If you are doing speed runs, a few minutes out of a 4000mAh battery sounds about right.

thanks for the reply- I think the batteries I'm using don't have the required discharge rate. any advice as I'm using the lrp spx esc, the specs have it at 400A/phase. Thanks again

you would be better off using a 10.5T motor and use boost and turbo to get the top speed. and you will be a lot easier on your batteries abnd your car too. i think 4.5 is just way too much power, even if you have a 6000mah battery.

Thanks for your reply,I'll grab a 10.5t. this will allow me to turn punch
up thru esc no problem?

Not sure about your esc, but the hobbywing v2.1, orca vritra mk2 and Tekin rspro all has these boost and turbo function.
