Great to see that World GT took off so well at MRH, and that GQ is taking off so good in that area as well. When will the do rubber sedan tires?

Nice look. How can one tell them from non-spec tires? Is the black carbon wheel unique to the spec tire? Thanks.

Hey Karl, I would like to know the answer to that question as well. Mt local track will only let us run the tires with the purple band in the center. But it would be nice to have other tire options out there.

I wouldn't mind trying a few sets of these tires... How do availability and pricing compare to the other WGT tire choices?

The black carbon wheel denotes the spec lilac compound for them. The pricing is $19.99 for rears and $15.99 for fronts.

some of the wheels RC4Less sells are using the same wheels as GQ - at least that's the way it was when I was running for GQ

it was odd to see the GQ orange wheels being sold at RC4Less

If the tires do not have the purple stripe they will not be legal at ROAR events or many other series races. That is why the Jacos are not being used. I noted this when the Jacos came out on their white rim. ROAR dropped the hammer even though by their rules the stripe is not listed as a requirement. The oval series TOUR, BRL and HCOT require the stripe also.
Bummer because I really would like some style options.

Jaco never had the purple strip on their WGT tires. The original Jaco WGT tire was denoted by the carbon fiber looking rim followed by a black rim with a yellow stripe in the tire.

That tire/rim is also no longer allowed at the mentioned events/series. ROAR got picky and so did the major series. Too afraid of remounts in different compounds I guess.

Out of curiosity, when did this occur? We ran with the white wheel Jacos at the Carpet Nats this year in WGT.....

Is it that hard to mark the rims? Answer NO we mark our TC tires for our ROAR santioned series at each race. Been doing that for years. And when we get our GQ tires we'll do the same. Do you know how easy it is to make fake spec tires-simple with purple or yellow stripes! If I wanted to cheat I could but I don't!
