After seeing all the details on the car just makes me want it more. Even though its a 500 dollar car, they have a huge hit on their hands. Their new timing system has me very intrugedon that alone. I see more people intersted in that. Just for the fact they can use it on all their cars not just the funny car.

Yes, that is probably one of the best parts of the system....imagine being able to accurately determine how much your friends car or truck sucks compared to yours, lol!

One guy in Florida had an idea today of using the timing system to clock gymkhana-style drifting...where two cars are pitted against each other on a track that is one lap and has a beginning and an ending. All types of rally and Drifting will work with this....and give an accurate time for the track...

Was not able to yet, but its sitting on a guys desk right now, lol....wish
I had the transmitter!!!!!
Honestly, I heard that running two of them is SO fun! Its not easy getting full speed on 3s, its very fast, so, the launch controll, the burnouts, all that stuff helps when you are making adjustments to suit your driving style and skill level. Its not just drive straight and you're done.

Yeah a lot of people think that's it is in drag racing. There is so much that goes on before the run just to make a clean pass let alone a fast one.

I'm very interested. I found a good location for speed runs - 150 metres long (492 feet) and fairly smooth. Smooth enough to make about 10 runs with my Serpent S100 pan car with no airborne adventures.
Disappointed to find 2 cells/6.5T only does 87 klm/h (54mph) - was expecting 100 klm/h. I was wiping some speed off due to continually bottoming out the chassis. Also only running mild boost/timing.

Next I'll put together a Tamiya F1 with HW 120A ESC and 4.5T motor with Porsche 962 body and see what that will do.

For me it's once I achieve a reasonable speed I'll be done, but that Traxxas car would make a great display piece that I can take for a blast once in a while then put back on the shelf.

The release date as per the Traxxas site is April 16th.

I figure most stores might be able to have them by end of the month if they work fast.

HappyMeal - what is the chassis made from? I want to think tubular aluminum?

I a not sure, It feels like a slightly flexible composite, but I can check and get back to you.

They will be actually IN stores by the 16th....at least, the stores who back-ordered them.....There are tons backordered already ad this is just the first day.
