What happened around the 1 minute mark when the crowd gasped? The camera angle didn't get it.

Hayatos fan shorted out and he went up in smoke.

I am guessing it was where Hayatos(sp) went up in smoke. It was a huge ball of smoke right in the middle of the track.

Yeah I ran over because his car was smoking and was kind of on fire...I was not sure what it was so I picked it up. There was so much traffic that I was really not sure what to do with the car and I was being really cautious because I did not know if it was a lipo fire or not. A few seconds later one of the tech guys on the announcer stand wanted the car so that he could deal with whatever was going on and so I threw the car across the track and up onto the announcer stand. It was a good throw, but I was concerned when I got back to my pit spot because I though to myself " I just threw the shit out of Hayato's car...I hope It landed OK", but then I remembered that a few seconds before it was on fire and smoking so I felt a bit more at ease. Tough luck for him, but that is how racing goes sometimes I guess. Having to marshal the Mod A main is stressful enough without smoking cars right in front of you of a former world champion!

I know it is a lot of work...but if you sticker the hand out tires ahead of time that would cut check-in time probably in half...just a suggestion

@artwork I watched the main on rcLive and you did a great job with Hayato's car.
I actually thought to myself would he mind that you threw it and thought these guys will tear the car down or replace the thing for every event and it was the last run so he wouldn't even care.
You cleared the racetrack quickly without any interruption to the guys still running, i don't think you can do a better job than that.
