1. don't over sauce - set a limit on 24 oz bud lights from the abc. i try not to exceed 8 in any given 2 hour period.

2. always use protection - bring a lipo sac.

3. spend time on your setup - if you dont look good walking the strip, you'll never pull any tail.

4. manage your energy - you dont want to blow out early.

5. always wipe till it's clean- never set your car down with wet tires.

6. find a pro - dont settle for the skank in the bar. vegas is full of qualified professionals

7. keep it in your pants. - never leave your phone or your wallet on the pit table when you go to race.

8. use rubbers. - especially if you run touring car. foams are illegal in touring car.

9. keep your pits clean. - no one wants to sit next to you all day if you stink.

10. no sword fighting. - those thinks that hold the fruit in your drink could poke out your eye.

hope that helps.

All these tips appear to be words of wisdom that should help out.

Thanks

Hey all: I think everyone having to pit at the track is great for mingling and being able to hang out with the pro's. Also I know it is what it is either way ,but I would be curious to know if this was a Scotty race decision or a hotel decision to keep the rooms cleaner? Thanks

I can't say who made the decision but the conference rooms and guest rooms are far apart. It would not be all that practical to pit in your room. But I suppose you could.

I've only been to IIC 3 times. Here's some things I picked up along the way:

Bring a small fan and cool clothing. It's about 78F in the ballroom most of the time.
Bring your own pillow. Hotel pillows are terrible.
Take a plastic bag (or something) with you when you pick up all your tires to carry them in.
Get out of the ballroom and away from the race often.
Sleep.

I,ve never been to the race and this is what I,ve learned.
-Just say no to homeless strippers.
-Clarify before agreeing to amateur action.
-Hit the abc store early and often before it gets shut down.
-Go the correct way on the straight.
-Don,t win amateur by too large a margin.
-Be respectful and courteous unless someone talks to you or is in your way.
-Don,t post random comments on perfectly civil threads pertaining to the race.

I have a photocopied $100 bill that I leave right in the middle of my pit table when I go to race. If it disappears, I know there's a thief among us.

Top tips all

It isn't the IIC unless I've bought a cheesy Vegas pit towel from the hotel gift shop

World GT car shaken down and sorted in IIC spec. Got eaten alive on the straight with 13.5 blinky, but awesome on the infield.

F1 needs more a bit more work after it's maiden run. Game on
