Scotty or Kraig, What are our chances of seeing the entry list sometime soon? One of the other SoCal drivers had a computer issue while signing up and was getting nervous about whether his entry was received. I know he’s good to go but seeing his name posted would make him feel better.

I know everyone has been patiently waiting to hear about the additional class we have been working on for this year’s IIC. I am happy to announce the final class of the 2012 IIC will be.

Spec Gran Touring, This class will be a bit unique to what everyone normally runs. This will be a handout speed control and motor class featuring the Novak Club Spec Speed Control and 17.5 Motor system. Novak will provide each participant with a complete system for the event. You will receive these systems during registration and check in on Monday. Another unique part of this class will be the bodies that we will allow. We did not want another class having the same look of all the other touring classes we are already running. So we will be allowing the following bodies in the SGT class.

TAMIYA
51474 FERRARI 599X
51471 AUDI R8
51453 NISSAN GTR
51396 BMW M3
51375 SUBARU IMPREZA
53470 OPTIONAL RACE WING

HPI
7335 PORSCHE 911
7352 BMW M3
7399 SUBARU IMPREZA
17218 NISSAN 350Z
7388 MAZDA RX8

Weight: 1350
Ride height: 5mm
We will not measure the height of the wing. Only stock mounting of wing allowed.
These bodies should make for a very cool and exciting look to this class. This class will include a set of Jaco Blue handout tires.

We will also spec the FDR Final Drive Ratio for this class.

This class is open to all drivers sponsored or not. It will be great to see some of the big guns running this class in a spec format where it is all up to the driver and his setup.

Novak Electronics will be offering these systems at a great promotional discount price to all racers after the event.

Entry fee for this class will be the same as all other Touring classes $175 1st class or $100 2nd or 3rd class.

Entries are open at www.intchamps.com to join this class. If you have already signed up and want to add this class. Please email me directly, NOT PM, email me please And I will get you all signed up.

We are excited to be teaming up with Novak Electronics to add this class to the IIC and invite everyone to join in this fun and unique spec class.

If you have any questions at all, feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer them.

Thanks very much,
Scotty

Default Spec class

It would be cool if the handout motor for Amateur and Gran Spec were the same so we could run both classes with the same car and just have to swap a body!

This IIC will be my first big championship race, and as such I am preparing quite thoroughly, but I have to say I have never wrenched harder or more meticulously in my life. Shocks, diffs, dampers, alignment, weight distribution, bearings, belts, gear mesh, its where perfect isnt quite good enough and there's still one month left until Vegas.

For contrast, for club racing it had gotten to where I would just throw the car down with any diff and set of tires and just drive around its faults.... something tells me I couldn't do that at the IIC.

I hope we do get some "big guns" in this class like we did for F1 last year. It was really neat last year having some of the Tamiya team drivers and other world class drivers in this class. F1 was a lot of fun last year, but given that I literally bought my first F1 car about a month before last years race and only had one day of not so encouraging practice before arriving in Vegas, I had no great expectations of doing well in this class. Now , with the addition of Spec GT, I'll be able to see how well I can do with the fast guys at speeds and with a chassis I'm more comfortable with.

I also think it's pretty cool that Scotty was able to work out something with Novak so there is no additional cost for the handout speedo and motor.

Still pretty cool that there is no extra cost to use them for the race. I could see people using an extra speedo/motor fee as a reason to not enter this class.

HI guys,

So far I think everyone likes the Spec Gran Touring class. I have received many emails from guys interested in this class. I think it will be a really fun class and leave everything up to the driver and his setup.

I am interested to see what bodies everyone chooses. They all have some cool aspects to them. It will be interesting. I think I would run the Audi!

Now that September is almost here, it is time to start beating the drum to remind guys to sing up and get the hotel rooms reserved!!!!!

Our block of rooms is good until Sept 10th! You must make your reservations by then to get the special rate and booked in the remodeled section of the hotel.

It never fails every year I get many calls on the last day, Scotty please help me get the rate for the room. I forgot to call. Can you still get the discount.
so don't be "THAT GUY" Call now and book your room.

Call 1-800-634-6753 mention International Indoor Championships to get our rate.

Only about a month away and it will be IIC time in Vegas. I cant wait.

Thanks
Scotty

Didn't want to be "that guy". I'm in, just not all in. Signed up for the all the big pan classes. Now I gotta head to the mall and buy some new pants, the old ones don't fit.
