Really no need to keep pushing the VTA thing... we will find out soon enough what the extra class is. The repetitive posting only clogs the thread.

I can't speak for those who like Olive Garden. The part that I like best about VTA is the realism of the cars. It reminds me of the good old days in the late 1980's and early 90's when big R/C Race events actually gave trophies to the most realistic looking R/C cars. Today all you see at the big R/C events are unidentified spaceship looking cars which look nothing like any real car out there.

I like and appreciate VTA and don't want it run at the IIC for the same reason; It's SLOW and in no way pushes our cars to the limit. Great beginner class, but the IIC is for the holy-shit-that's-fast racing. My dream class would be foam tire TC with Mod power.

Not true , have you ever ran 17.5 blinky 1/12 ,it is not fast.

In a straight line, no... 17.5 non-timing 12th is not fast. But you are still left with the "700g pan-car w/ foam tires" cornering-speed.

I run 17.5 1/12 on a weekly basis. Its slower than i like (five laps a race slower than 13.5 boost, probably 2.5 slower than 13.5 blinky), but at least we're on foam. VTA is slow and on vinyl tires. It's fun, but if only one extra TC class can be added I think it should be mod foam TC.

Reread what he said. 17.5 1/12 is not holy-shit-thats-fast by any means.

This was in reply to James

But 17.5 is at least 'stock' instead of 'half the power of stock with new york taxi cab seats for tires.' I appreciate scale appearance and classes that help beginners break through, but I want to go fast.

Well I see your point. At the speeds you are talking about there's really no point in having a realistic looking car because nobody can really see all the details in it as it's going by at "holy-shit-that's-fast" speed.

Plus it saves the race management some money since they don't have to hand out trophies for a Concourse Competition. Although, just like rcsuicide, I do miss those days long ago when R/C cars looked like real cars.
