I also noticed that the entry fee went up about $20 per class from last year if I'm not mistaken. Which includes every additional class as well. So running 3 classes will cost you about $60 more this year.

BTW .. I thought that CRC donated the carpet as a sponsor in the past.

We lived in a capitalist society, its not about what it costs, its about what it's worth to you. How many of you have Macbook pro's out there...

Three years ago we all sat around feeling sad as Scotty announced we were at the last IIC. Whatever kept that from being true, I'm glad for it. The best on-road race in the world is in our country, a place that would rather smash plastic tubs in the dirt than race precision machines.

Whatever it takes for IIC to thrive, make it so. Because traveling to an ETS race is the next option, and that ain't cheap.

Lets see....
new motor, batteries, bodies, tires, parts, ESC, paint, and all the rest: $500
Hotel: $350
Getting to Vegas and home again: $150
Probable losses in the poker tournament and blackjack tables: $200
Hangover: Bad
Speeding Ticket: $200
Having a great story to tell for the rest of my R/C life: Expensive

But nah! I'm going to say no over the extra $30 to enter.

Funny! Yes it does cost to participate in this race but we do get what we pay for.

This will be my first IIC. I however did race in his last three RROCs (his last 2 in Sacramento and the last one at Tamiya Facility in Aliso Viejo) with Scotty and the team. With that said, I feel Scotty is the best in the business. I know I will get my money's worth at IIC for my racing. A week of practice qualifing and racing. Plus a motor, 2 sets of tires, a dinner, a nice T-shirt, tire traction, and a few extras. If that isn't enough, I still get to hang with friends and a chance to make some new ones. How much better can this get. This is simply awesome.

Scotty, keep up the great work. I for one will appreciate a week in A/C with out breaking into a sweat regardless how bad my driving may be.

Thanks to Scotty Ernst Productions for a fine race.

I hope that the rumored extra TC class would be foam tire, but probably not based on what I have heard so far.

The sponsors of that years event all stepped up and recommitted to being a sponsor next year is what got it happening again along with the huge turnout he had that year. His biggest problem a few years ago was finding the $$ through sponsors. Once all those guys committed it took a huge load off his chest and made it possible. Now the turnouts have been going up and sponsors are still on board. I imagine it will be around for a while longer.

They dont "donate" the carpet per say. RANDOM NUMBERS HERE: If they were say a 5000.00 sponsor of the event and gave 5000.00 worth of carpet instead to Scotty its still 5K out of his pocket either way you slice it. If that is the way it happens I am sure it helps him out because he doesnt have to come out of pocket up front for it and it helps CRC out as they save a few $$ (but not much as that stuff aint cheap to begin with) too.

Agreed with both of you. It isnt about the money spent.... If it was look at the toy car that you spent any where from 500-1000 bucks for. Its about the memories you make with friends/new ones and enjoying vegas and its night life. If you meet us AZ boys i am sorry for you beacuse we are pretty funny and loud some times. With all this said I would like to thank Scotty for putting in the hard work and dedication to make sure that this race keeps going. I think this is going to be my fourth year going and enjoying it with some great friends and people i have met over the years.

Thanks again for all the hard work that goes into making it the best race ever!!!!

My name is Big White and I aprove this message

P.S. BAAAAAKKKKKKKKAAAAAA see you guys in 2 months 1 day 6 hours 1 min and 33sec

Everyone who is at odds with the entry costs you need to know that anything down on the LV strip is not cheap. Just the fact of racing RC cars in the center of the strip is pretty awesome in itself. The Riveria is no Bellagio but you're in walking distance to some of the greatest hotels and entertainment in the world.

You're also getting discounted room rates which no matter where you sleep on the strip can be outrageous during the weekends.

Couple things to remember, first, if you want beer, buy a cooler and purchase it from a local grocery to save a ton of money, beers cost on average 6+ dollars per on the strip unless you're gambling. Second, you HAVE to walk around the Cosmopolitan at City Center.....you will NEVER see more short skirts and cleavage per square ft anywhere else in your life. If you're with a wife or girlfriend, wear sunglasses to avoid getting busted....amen.

Gamble what you can afford to loose... because chances are you will.

What was it that Ace Rothstein said in Casino? They're the only winners, the players don't stand a chance. Casinos are like selling people dreams for cash.
Cosmopolitan you say?
