Is this the Ebay add?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/R-C-RC-Au...item46019525f7

Have seen a couple of these clones try to race at our track, the quality is absolutely rubbish.
The alloy parts either bend or break, the plastic is as brittle as an egg shell and the shocks leak so bad you can see the oil build up around the lower shock ball joint after one race day.
Sure you can spend some $ to get the genuine parts to replace the ones that will break the moment that you hit anything harder then a marshmallow, but by the time you've done that it would have been cheaper to buy a good second hand genuine one.

Cheers
Rob.

Just a question. If this is a clone of a tamiya and it uses lower quality parts that are more prone to breaking and if the buyers of this clone are replacing broken parts with tamiya originals then wouldn't tamiya be happy to supply parts for the clone? Especially considering that the person buying the clone probably didn't have the $400 to spend on the original kit so tamiya probably didn't lose the chassis sale to begin with. They just picked up a parts customer and I'm sure the profit is higher on the individual parts than the whole kit.

Please dont buy it. Dont let China rip off what the Tamiya engineers worked so hard to design and bring to us. Even with it being cheaper than dirt. Even if every single part, nut, and bolts interchanges with tamiya. The carbon fiber will be weak and probably tweaked, the alloys used for the aluminum are shit, and an identically set up tamiya driven by the exact same driver will be faster than this piece of ____.

You'll spend more in the long run buying a cheap car. Buy a quality car. Thanks!

They make clones cheap enough to be tempting.....even though we already know the quality is bunk. How do you think Walmart has been so successful? The product is so cheap that if its junk we dont care.

If you want a good quality car cheap look at the sakura zero s model. You dont get all of the aluminum and carbon fiber but it can be upgraded. It is a great car that is very capable of running with the associated tamiya and xray cars.
