I have charged by 3800's at 5 amps @ 126 degrees F.
and at 7 amps ,

they still suck.

I hate 3800s, and will not buy 4200's do I hear lipo?!!!

I normally use the aps for motor checker and LRP for a charger.

the APS unit will shut down when I run another charger off of the same my reedy DC converter.

About this charger???

Hi all
I just bought a APS charger ( Almost blind) but realized it only does linear charging??? I paid 160 CA for it at the Canadian hobby show in Toronto (sweet) with all those bells and whistles you get with the S3.I haven't cracked the seal yet cause I'm not sure if it can charge 3800's 4200's and so on.I did read through this thread and did see a few that used it for 3300's and 3800's.Could anyone give me the low down please.
Thanks
Matt

The newest version of the APS has step charging, so you might have bought an older one.

You will have no problem charging with the v1...most of us are not useing step now anyways. The biggest loss really will be the inability to change charge rate while charging.

I now will cut the seal and enjoy my new charger and all the goodies that came with it too.I kinda figured it did the Nimh's because my other charger a Novak Millenium Pro say's Linear as well when the charging starts up.

i use the motor test profile at 3v it works great just remember to make sure your lathe motor is spinning the right way
when i hook my leads up to my motor i have to hook them up backwards because im running an old p2k motor not a lathe motor

Got my new APS Dyno-charge today, I'd like to say so far I'm pretty impressed by this product. Very light and small, plus it comes with tons of nifty little add-ons and functions. I just might replace my Pulsar2 with another one of these.
