Mod Motor Brush's
 

My son and I have just gotten back into R/C and are running Sedan Mod. Used to run all my mod motors with Gonzo slick brush's and had great results. Good power and minimum com wear. These brush's are no longer available. What is the hot brush for good performance and good com life. We are running Orion and Reedy motors. 10 turn through 13 turn. Most of the people at the track are just getting back into racing or are running stock and have the same question as me.
Also what kind of timing or amp draw is everyone using for sedans. I can see it is all different then when we quit running 6 years ago. Thanks for any help.:confused:

Reedy 729 Quasars are working great for me. Plenty of power, yet very easy on the comm. I run my mods at between 18 and 24 degrees of timing.

Try using Reedy Quasar Mod brushes (729). They work pretty well for me. As for timing/amp draw go to this site and click on "Set the timing on your modified motor". Now all you have to figure out is the optimum gearing for your track. Welcome back.

I was just looking at the reedy 729's. two guys tried the 727's and they seemed to be really poochy in the low wind motors, but worked great in the 13 turn and up motors. I have most of my motors set at 20 degrees after i cut the coms and that seems pretty good.

The 729's have been great for me in 9 and 10 turn motors, I think you'll like them.

quasars work great turn timing down if you run low winds and brushes will last longer and comm will not need cut as often.
