Evoracer... the test run went well today, although I think my gearing was a little off with a Reedy 19t. Does 87 spur and 25 pinion sound right? Dunno really...

Regarding setup, I had to remove the rear sways because the rear of the car would come loose out of the 180s. I also switched to Rayspeed brand springs. They seem to stiffen up the suspension with a good balance of droop. The original springs are just too soft... Currently using RS Yellow in front and White at the back.

I might get in trouble saying this but the car felt like my 415 with just a little less on power steering and pickup. I wonder how the Sigma2 compares to the 1?

Just to give you a idea on how bad the U.S$ has dropped against the Japan yen and the EURO .this time last year a $300 kit would cost about $30 U.S less than today, if not more.As for other companies, this has already affected current kits and as for the kits coming out just look at the price for the new xray(reported price $380-$390)and the corally rdx ($419-450 depending on version)both great cars but would be less if it was'nt for the WEAK U.S dollar!
kawada does have a small team in Japan but also like input from local drivers as well.Kawada stays busy with there line of car's and there OEM services to other RC companies.
If you want to try a Sigma1 or2 ,see about picking up a used one for a good price .

eeyan
keep posting about your Sigma, all information and opinions would be great.

Evoracer

No one sells Kawada stuff in OZ, so if I get one it will be most likely from the US or Hong Kong - though I have found it difficult so far to locate any shops in Hong Kong that have them

One thing I noticed on the US website was that the spares are VERY well priced, certainly much less that what I would've expected.

Eeyan - how much difference does moving the motor to the forward location make? I think that looks like an excellent tuning tool.

Bender, if it comes down to it and you have difficulties getting your hands on one just to try it out AND I happen to get lucky and get one before you.......I'll send mine to you so you can try it out.
Sac....Yep, got e-mails from 2 people shortly after I made mention of it. I'm sure you helped also..Thanks ! As soon as I finish those deals and if I get off my duff and make some more money.....I'll be talkin to Evolution Hobbies about a shiny new one !!! If anybody's looking to buy some Tamiya cars or collectible bodies....let me know. I have some things for sale in order to help finance my new addiction.

Evoracer: I'm not so sure about the Sigma 1. I just got my Sigma2 about 2 weeks ago. I can say that the setup is still on the testing stage. The Sigma 2 doesn't feel like a 415. It's very fast on acceleration and corners. More like a hybrid of belt and shaft handling feel. I've just finish a club race today and the car performed pretty well. I'll try to get the setup sheet done quickly and post it here so everyone can comment about it and hopefully can further improve on the car's performance.

Stick with the "T", future TRF guy... only people who can switch brands are fathers or retired wannabes...
