Hi Guys,

Our shipment should be leaving Japan either today or tomorrow, with any luck, we might see it Friday or early parts of next week. Our price for the Record Breaker and the Frontline 2 chargers are going to be $259.99 with magnetic temperature probe included.

We are also bringing in the Fortress battery analyzer which I've been using for the past couple of weeks on my batteries, and I believe it is a great unit to have if you're curious on what the performance of your battery is like over time. I've shown the data graphs and spreadsheet on my lap top to local customers and all of them have been pretty impressed and impressed by the Fortress

I've been running the Record Breaker for over a year (thanks Dave), and I've been very happy with it. It does have a fuse inside and you can replace it if you cross the leads or hook it up bacwards to the P/S. I think it's a standard blade fuse. Anyway, I've played with charge profiles for quite some time and this is the one I use for 6cell stock and 19t:

first 2000mah- linear, 7.5V

second 30000mah- linear, 6.5V

third 4000mah- linear, 5V, 2PK, 40mV peak, 42deg C temp peak, Delf On (by the way, I couldn't decipher what Delf is from the instructions so I just leave it on...LOL)

Also, you should program another setup for your before-the-run-last-peak where it doesn't have any lockout, it just goes straight to the peak V and peak Temp mode.

Like I said it's been a great charger and believe it or not even my 1year+ old packs that cycle out crappy still run pretty good when charged on the RB.

So is this charger a better 'investment' than the Futaba CDR-5000?

Did any of you guys actually get the discharge numbers off a pack after they are charged with 3/4 phase charging? Are the numbers better compared to those that are charged by linear charging?

I've read as much as I could about the Integy G40 and I like it too, but what have you read that makes you 'know' that it's better than the CDR-5000
Anyhow, this thread isn't about these 2 chargers ...

only by stats it can do Li-poly batteries as opposed to the futaba one. I remember futaba advertised their charger as able to charge them, but couldnt. other than that i they "Look" about the same and stats wise only the G40 is going to be cheaper also.
