Its a customized hideaway headlight firebird. it was deemed to be inefficient for production and the camero was slatted for it so inter office rivalries within GM nixed the idea!

We have local racer Dan Sheetz running a Traxxas 4-tec 2.0 in VTA. He has been very competitive and was qualified 3rd out of 20 cars last week in the A-main. Check out his qualifying run from last Friday. He is the red car starting in the pole position...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHQeDRVQ3-Y&feature=youtu.be

He has put a few Traxxas upgrade parts on the car, but is still using the Traxxas servo, transmitter, and receiver that came with the car. The car is still a bit on the heavy side, but it hasn't been preventing him from being very competitive.

Seems to depend on the track. Some will still allow the HPI, some have gone strictly Protoform. Best bet is to check with the track

I have not heard of a track that does not allow HPI wheels. However, some do not allow HPI tires.

I misread that. Though it said Hpi Tires.

Thank you both Micro and Billy....our track only allows protoforms tires. Glad to see that HPI wheels are good to go!

Depends on track or state, here in Florida both are allowed at all tracks.

I have no idea who this guy is but he's laid out a pretty in depth setup - 4-tec 2.0 spec racing has taken off at our track—here's my setup and info

Hope it helps!
