I have the 64 pitch setup with a 35t pinion and 116 spur. Will this fly on a 90x60 track roughly? I also posted some pics of my first VTA body/ 1966 Mustang GT. Most of the details are painted in to include all the lights, chrome, stripes and window trim. I look forward to any and all feed back.

The 116 spur is much too big. I have run several xray's in vta, including a 2013 and for that size track I would use a 92 tooth spur and maybe a 49 tooth pinion - then gear / adjust timing based on motor temp & performance.
Your gearing might be a ways off but your paint is spot on. Welcome to USVTA. On a 90x60 track I like my fdr lower with more torque. Closer to 3.8. That's just my preference.
Nice job on the paint.

Would someone point me to the "updated ESC rules" post(s), so that I may update our Web site for Vintage Stock Cars as well?

Also, has/was the USVTA site updated and current yet with the new stuff?

It doesn't appear that the PDF version has been updated. If you're like me and assume that they are both the same, be careful.

Can someone actually point me to the actual list of approved speedos?

Yeah, I've found the ROAR website and I've found the rulebook. I see a lot of specs. Justl don't see a "list".

My bad. I assumed it would be sub-heading under RULES.

Thanks.

I kept checking the date at the top of the web page and it still says "Rules updated 08.27.2013." You have to scroll down to the Motor Specifications section and look at the ESC list to see where any changes have been added.

That's funny. The PDF rules say that they were updated on 6/6/2013. The PDF rules are definitely very different than the web page rules. The Protoform '71 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am body is not listed in the PDF. Also the PDF rules does not mention the approval of ROAR 'blinky' ESC's.

HI guys, I'm wanting to turn my xray t3 into a vta class car. I was wanting to know which HPI rims do I use on the front since the vta bodies are 200mm wide. I know the 31mm rims have a 6mm offset but I can't find any 26mm rims with an offset.

all front vintage rims are 26mm wide, 0mm offset and all rears are 31mm wide, +3 offset.

trust me, it works - no matter which chassis you run you might, however, need some flat shims (or thicker wheel hexes) in order to really fill the wheel wells on some bodies - but on 95% of the bodies, the wheels and a 190mm chassis work

Unless you are running the Pegasus Camaro. That thing is awful big. VTA chassis running that thing looks like a toddler wearing daddy's shirt.

The HPI vintage wheels and tires were made to go with the HPI vintage bodies on a 190mm chassis. Stance and the rear being wider, it's all intentional. It's a look that HPI was going for. Then we started racing that stuff.
The Protoform VTA shells are blessings from God and Dale and were made for us to use in this class. I think the McAllister shells on the USVTA list were also made specifically for us. I think the Parma Pegasus and whatever else is on the list is stuff that just happens to work.

But I could be wrong.
