it does look rather low

might be better to hit Dale and Co up on facebook and ask that question...I can't see them designing this body for the IFS cars - only Tamiya makes them, really, and it would leave a lot of chassis out in the cold

Seconded. need a 71-73 Camaro body now. All they need to do is smooth out the front fender vent/scoops, the hood scoop (and maybe that side exit exhaust pipe while they are at it), and then make a 71-73 specific nose piece mold.

Hey Shadowracer,

The way the black Trans Am in the photos was mounted was purely for looks: extra low, oversize rims. Dale has actually made some small modifications to all 4 fender flares/wheel openings on the mold since the photoshoot as well. There shouldn't be any issues with clearance when mounted at racing ride height.

hey all, new to the VTA scene, been running a SLash LCG for a bit now. My buddy and I got bit witht he bug and going to start out in VTA. He has a TC3 and I will be purchasing a Sakura Zero XI. We already have Hobbywing Justocks, and Novak 25.5. Just want to introduce myself and look forward to help!

and then there the "oddballs" of Trans-Am. Chevelles, Falcons, I have even heard of a Ranchero somwhere...

Would also have to correct the rear bumper and tail lights. If you have a cad file to reproduce/replace body bucks, basic body and roof line are the same (commonly referred to as a "F" body), you're already half way there. Differences were the rear quarter panels and front ends (different wheel wells and nose) and taillight panels (different tail lights). Also have the option of the standard/SS or RS (different front turn signals) and full front bumper or split front bumper on the Camaro. Looking forward to a 70/72 Camaro body if you can get the project going. Lots more Camaros than Firebirds in Trans Am (SCCA A/Sedan) racing.

Most of those actually ran A/Sedan (same class without the manufactures points and big sponsorships, a.k.a mom & pop club level SCCA racing). For instance, see the below photos from 1971
