Hey, wait a minute. Is the wing on that car legal? It looks kinda big even for Touring Car standards...

Ok. That's enough talk about Touring Cars on the VTA forum. Get back to the right topic.

Check out the new driver that I installed in my VTA. It came out of my old HPI RS4 Rally car.

I think it's a big improvement over the last driver I had in my VTA...

It clearly states:
I have read that, multiple times. The confusion is the definition of a "wing". What comes with the HPI bodies can be either a wing or a spoiler or both. A spoiler is different than a wing in appearance and the way it is attached. For example, the 68 and 69 Camaros come with spoilers, which make contact completely across the rear deck. A wing is usually attached at two points to the rear deck and allows air to flow under it. The Boss 302 is technically a wing yet it is legal as it appears exactly as the real car did when raced, or from the factory for that matter. This isn't limited to HPI either as I just used it as an example. Historical data (pictures and or video) needs to be looked at to make the call. If you have an legitimate picture of a real Trans Am car from the day (60s or 70s) with a spoiler or wing on it, that spoiler or wing should be legal. The big wings being shipped with these bodies is for use in other classes, but not VTA as the cars never had wings like that originally. I believe the spirit of VTA is to be as authentic as possible and true to the Trans Am cars that raced in the 60's and 70's. I hope I am being clear and to the point.

That beautiful Mustang Darkside showed has a non authentic wing/spoiler on it which I suspect the modeler fabricated or found in another kit. It looks great and may be deemed legal due to its dimensions, yet I don't recall ever seeing one like that back in the 60s or 70s (yes, I was alive back then) and it looks more like a 90s style spoiler/wing to me. That would not be my call to make... Just say'n...
