The gearing thing has been answered many times. It depends on your motor, motor timing and track. Sorry to sound so rough but that info is needed before anyone can respond.

To be alittle nicer about it. "We can't tell from here. The people to ask would be the racers at your local track. They can tell you a ballpark final drive ratio, and with a few pinions you can get it right from there"

Unlikely. We know Protoform could. But until they are authorized they won’t.

I was at a race yesterday ( rained out after the first round) The protoform tires I had were broken in on carpet for 5 to 6 months and still inconsistant, Others with new PF tires were Loose and Pushing . The 2 classes i run with USGT tires No Problems . Im done with these $50 a set PF tires maybe outdoor VTA as well

Don't let a minor tire problem ruin your fun. Set the car down and run with the pack. It's about being outdoors with your "buddies" and bangin' on each other for the bragging rights.
Hang in there.

So, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a big NASCAR fan but I'm not a big fan of modern day NASCAR schemes on vta cars. Though I can appreciate the fact that some racers do like it and I've seen some fine examples posted in this thread.

Fortunately for me, 386 Raceway in Daytona runs some vta oval. Also, on June 1, Mike Boylan will be hosting some carpet oval racing at the Minnreg facility and it will include some vta action! The next day, the Florida State Series rolls in for road course racing. So, you can run vta oval on Saturday, and vta on a road course on Sunday.

So, I got to thinking....how about a period correct NASCAR scheme for the oval run. So, the result is close to a 1971 Petty scheme on a Cuda of course since he was a Chrysler guy. In 71 he was still in the all Petty Blue....no red with STP sponsorship which came in 72.

So with the help of decals from Carl Seils for the cool 71 grill and the AAR stripes, and mikesdecals.com for the Petty stuff, it turned out to be a fun little build. Also built the chassis to the mid-motor config which seems to work very well on the oval. So, if Richard Petty would have ever put a 71 AAR Cuda on a circle track....this is my take on it.

I find NASCAR a total bore just like Major League Baseball and the NFL, and the NBA, but your Nascar looking VTA is SWEET!

Post a pic of your car after 7 or 8 VTA races. LOL. Like I said. A great looking car.

I'm not sure if it's a minor tire problem, a lot of people were complaining about it last year.

If any of you looking for a good summer indoor in the AC no worry about rain ...and race against some of the best on carpet with National titles to their name.... not to mention it's a great way to get ready for the 2019 USVTA Nationals in September...

come out in June to Apex Raceway and Hobbies
