any chassis will work...if setup and driver is on-point.

My favorite VTA ride is still my TC3, but Ive just about run out of parts...so its a every now and then car or asphalt car with my TC4. I have never felt any chassis has had an advantage in VTA other than the original shaft Aewsomatix car. To me it was a very updated TC3/4

But as a very well traveled VTA racer I still see a lot of older cars still in the A-main

All this talk about hording the HPI tires for asphalt made me send an email to HPI. They wrote back in 1 day and said to expect a massive delivery in 4 to 6 weeks.

Did they also offer you some land that is under water only part of the time?

My three A700 chassis agree with you!

Quit hitting things and you wouldn't run out of parts, lol.

I've been racing the same TC3 kit I bought back in 1999, I believe.

The track is under new ownership, so hopefully trophy races will happen a little more frequently. New owner just took over on the 15th, so it may take a little while for the first one to happen.

I also agree, but I also think the A700 was way overbuilt for vta: too much steel/aluminum in the transmission where lighter plastic(rear diff) or delrin(front spool), aluminum dcjs&cvds (not steel), carbon fiber shaft(not aluminum), would have sufficed. I know they wanted to build a solid car, but extreme speed requires extremely light parts....
Also, the A700 should have been released with ceramic bearings for such an expensive car...
With all of these upgrades it would have been unbeatable in the spec classes(up to 17.5t blinky), and I have tried getting my tc4 setup with this same philosophy in mind, but the whole heavy shocktower stuff always left me wondering what could have been, eventhough the tc4's performance improved significantly...

Maybe they'll throw in a nice bridge to get you there...

Looking at getting back into the game after 10+ years. Dug out an old TA-05 that was only about 50% assembled before the hobby got temporarily shelved. Going to set it up for a class that uses very similar rules to VTA.

Should be interesting if nothing else. Haha.

What is the latest break in procedure for the Protoform VTA tires?
