That's great news. I do hope however that the new tire is the same performance as the old. Otherwise those with stockpiles (or even just two sets like myself) will be buying all new tires...

Beyond the confirmation will there be a grace period to use up the old ones?

But will it remain competitive, will the new tires use same wheels, or same style wheels.

Hopefully the new tires will be the same or slightly better. If they aren't as good, then we will still have the same supply issues from HPI as everyone will gravitate to the faster tire.

Good or Bad, these should/will be the spec tire, after all the HPI tires are gone.

Actually, if the HPI tires are no longer available, then it takes away my concern. Just as long as the new tire works fine and is available, I'll be happy.

This is great news, more to choose from, maybe new wheels to look forward to. Pumped! Any idea who the new comer will be? My bet is on Jconcepts. they have been doing great work with the scale monster truck tires.

I do a lot of traveling in the Southeastern US and visit quite a few hobby shops. Though they haven't been plentiful I have had no issues in finding either front or rear rubber for VTA. It may be fronts in one store and rears in another but they have been available. Same with wheels. The only ones I haven't been able to locate are the 8 spoke white and now the 8 spoke matte silver rears.

I understand the need for readily available product but hope that the cart isn't being put in front of the horse in looking for a solution to what may be a temporary concern. The stability of the rules in VTA is what drew me in. Opening the door to something untested from a different manufacturer could upset what has been a rock solid class. Time will tell.

If I'm reading the info on the HPI web sight correctly the new tire is still a D compound but a different tread pattern.
