Thank you very much. I cannot see the shock mounting position on the sheet, can you please let me know.

Sorry, I updated the sheet so the same link should work, if not its just the #2 hole front and rear.

    Thank you again.
1 Last question Why the Tamiya/Smokem parts up front?
  • The used (never run) car I purchased had them on there already. I actually love them though. No blades to bust and the tamiya dcj's are extremely smooth and strong. As soon as smokem makes outdrives for the xray diff I'm converting my other car over to these as well!

    Is this all I need?

  • Yes that is what I have.
  • Quote: LOL, well I still feel bad about that one, John. To make up for it I landed you some good door prizes. You've got a PM on RCFiles with pics of the stuff.

BTW, after disappointing handling during the SA round, I'm happy to say my Mi4 was working pretty well for the Austin round on Sunday. Straight (and non-broken) CVDs made a world of difference. Ha! Guess I'll hang onto my old Schuies for another season!
RJ you have a PM on RCFiles. Would have loved to have raced last weekend. Hopefully the surgeon will take the stiches out of Ronda's foot so she isn't restricted to bed rest and I can go racing Saturday here in SA. It seems like forever since I last got to race. Have a new VTA car I'm building and will try out. I'll be sure to mount the senor wire as far away from your car as possible

Personally I like the Box stock TC6.1 setup for VTA and just make adjustments from there.
Thanks for the hand Russ. Doesn't look that far off from stock.
  • What do you guys use to clean VTA tires? Asphalt track prepped with maple syrup smelled like breakfast all day but left black grime/grit/yuk on the tires. I used undiluted Simple Green and it did a good job but took two applications and lots of elbow grease.

Tried brake cleaner and it worked beautifully but perhaps that is over doing it?
  • I use Lighter Fluid
  • Tuning Haus, SXT tire cleaners or wd40.
  • A local here uses "MEK Substitute" from Home Depot, but this was for carpet.
  • I like Trinity Buggy Grip. Cleans and leaves a slightly tacky feel to the rubber. On some asphalt tracks where most tires sauces are hit-or-miss, Buggy Grip may be all I use at all.
  • I use this brake cleaner. Works amazing and doesn't leave any residue or attack the bodies/plastics. I've also not noticed any extra wear on tires using this either. I think its an Advance Auto Parts house brand so you can only get it from there.

  • HI All,

I am running VTA with a Xray T3 2012 and am wondering what size spur gear most people use?

    Using a Reedy Sonic Mach 2, 21.5

    thanks
