This is the best solution by far that I've found: At your hobby shop or online, Great Planes and Carl Goldberg both make several widths of REAL fiberglass cloth tape. R/C airplane guys use it to reinforce the center sections of their wings after joining the two halves. Tremendously strong and lightweight. It typically comes 5'-0" long and 2", 3" and 4" widths for about $5. I bought some of the 2" wide tape. You can get a LOT of front bumpers out of a 5'-0" piece.

First, a thin layer of Shoe Goo or Goop then push the fiberglass cloth tape into it. It conforms to the shape underneath great. Then, let it dry just a few minutes and coat it again with a thicker coat of Shoe Goo/Goop.

This fix is MUCH stronger than any other solution. I see lots of guys using drywall tape. That does nothing but hold the goop in place just like it hold joint compound on drywall joints until it dries. The dry wall tape isn't structural and it doesn't add much, if any, strength to your repair.

Try the real fiberglass tape solution. You'll like the results.

Hey guys, can you help me out? Where's a good place to get the "meatball" numbers for my body?

Whew! Just got home from the birds and man you guys missed one hell of a good time if you didn"t get to go. Got the B Screw award and raced my way into the A main and finished 8th. What a great group of guys to race with, they said this was the cleanest vta race they had seen at the birds and I enjoyed every lap of it. Keep up the good work guys this is the reason I joined the USVTA community. Would go into detail about the B Main which was a very close race between me and Greg Rojna but to tired and just want to get some sleep. Fill ya in later.
