Let me ask another question about this incident

Who honestly cares?

Is someone gonna post on the forums every time Chris kills a fly? If you ask me I say the drifter had what was comming to him running around on the track with pros like BK. What the hell was he thinking?

Moderator, Do us all a favor and delete this thread...please

I'm not defending anyone, but it's also the track owner/race director's job to make sure those who "need" to use the track can. If Toso did this, yeah I agree it was bad form. I've also been at larger events where in open practice guys who have much less power and speed absolutely refuse to get out of the way and yeild the line. This is bad form on those who are slower too. The other thing to remember is that drifters can run anywhere, while "racecars" need to run on a racetrack.

To lighten this up, here's a story from Paul Lemieux....
Paul went to a race in Illinois a few years ago, I think when he was still running for Tamiya. Anyways, in one of the mains a couple of guys started leaning on each other hard, crashing turned into deliberate hacking, turned into pushing and shoving after the race, turned into punches being thrown...turned into the police being called. The conversation between the racers and the officer taking the police report went something like this:

(O) So...let me get this straight...You sir...have a (emphesis) Toy Car ... (looking at other person) And you sir also have...a Toy Car ...and they got into an accident on the Toy Car Racetrack? Is this correct?

Both nod

(Officer, closing report book) Shame on both of you...and walks out

I care about the fact that people have these attitudes about staying out of peoples ways (not to say that people should go looking for trouble)....Until the owner bans other cars from being on the track, EVERYONE has the same right to be on it. That's what I care about. I really don't know what happened, but the "stay outta my/their way" seems to be commonplace.

I think it's great futureal closed the thread. It was not a productive topic for anyone. What's sad is that everyone who read it will be watching Tos' in the future for bad behavior, but no one will remember who started that thread.

Speaking of the qualities of the board, it seems Jesus is coming back in another thread!

just FYI! Great thing RC Tech was picked as the place to spread that critical bit of info

Let me relay one of my personal incidents with a Team Driver names have been changed to protect the innocent.
I am finally to a point that I can report what really happen Jan 16th 1999 in the land of carpet. There we where just having fun racing and doing pretty good at it, personally I didn't care if I won or not I was having fun running 1/12th scale. But along comes Team Driver with his Corraly sponsorship and his recent onroad championship stuck up his you know what. First Team Driver comes over complaining about not having batteries to run. I laughed in his face and told him that I only had two packs of 375 2000 that I broke down for 4cell. He goes into the rant about having sponsorship and should have batteries special for 1/12th. So we laughed at him again. It was along the lines that if you can't beat a non-sponsored driver on the local scene with regular team packs you don't deserve your sponsorship. So we get to racing and in practice my friend gets his car toasted by a couple touring cars and a 1/12 comes back to the table with half a car ECS and receiver apart and all four rims cracked. He pulls out the only spare chassis he has (which has a small crack in it) and puts it together for the third qualifier makes the "A". The "A" starts and it's a slugfest in the first corner somehow I make it out in third<G> the Team Driver is caught up in that mess and is somewhere near last. So he is on a hot run to the front. Somehow (I let him by) my friend passes me. So I'm sitting 5th. This Team Driver comes up to past me and I let him have the line. It just happen to work out that it was a clean past. So Team Driver gets up to my friend at the end of the straight and tries to go inside from 10 feet back. Needless to say he slams my friend's car into the wall breaking it. My friend is ticked to say the least. He is all muttering and packing up so after I finish the main in 5th. I pack up and we head out and run pass the Team Driver and he makes a comment about my friend should stop racing if he doesn't like to lose. So I jump in his face and say he doesn't mind losing a race if it's a clean race and doesn't have hacks like him in it. Come to find out from one of the guys at the track that it's really the Team Driver that doesn't like to lose since he had a crying fit down in the land of OJ when some non-sponsored kid beat him in a big race down there. Well my friend and Team Driver almost get into a fight right there. The good news is the Team Driver got banned from "the land of carpet" Raceway. The bad news is so did my friend.
But remember itís only toy cars for bowling trophies
you would think that the team driver should of had a little more restraint in passing and if they are so good they should never hit anybody and I mean anybody, even a drift car if they are SO good.

Hopefully he'll think twice before deliberately smashing someone else's car. I seem to recall that the other professional on the stand at the time didn't have a similar issue -- and/or certainly didn't act the same way if he did.

Pros in other sports often rent the venue (racetracks, drag strips, etc.) if they need "quality time" and don't want to be bothered by slow guys.

Turbo Joe:

Rctech is here to discuss RC cars, not to spread rumours and acusations about people. Whether they be pro drivers or not!

Why dont you just drop this subject , there are 2 sides to every story and to be quite honest I couldnt care less what you think about Chris or any other racing incident.

Cant we just get on with discussing our hobby instead of slagging people off for actions that probobly happened in the heat of the moment

It's not a "rumor". It happened.

If it's all good to "fluff" these guys when they behave well, then why is it not OK to question their actions when they don't? Besides, how can it hurt to discuss track etiquette in general?

It would seem to me that this is a good example of what NOT to do when you're on a track -- whether you're a novice or pro.

If you want the thread to die...don't post on it.

Guess you should go somewhere else then.

For the record, I have no personal connection to Chris Tosolini or his sponsors.

However, I do have a strong obligation to close threads that are 100% non-productive. The original poster's purpose was served--it had just turned into a flame war. That has no place anywhere.
