WGT Local club rules
Hi, Our local club runs WGT but has modified the rules as follow
Same rules for motor and ESC for 17.5 and 13.5
Any Body that is GT, LM proto,or Group C. Does not have to be front engined.
Any foam tire you want. Width included
This lets us use all the GT, LM and Group C bodies out there, BMW M3,
Porsche 911 and GT1. Mclaren, Mercedes CLK GTR, Porsche 962,Toyota
TS-020. Lamborginis, Honda HSV-010 and Nissan GTR-35.
The World GT should have these rules so they don't have to look at
those horrible Protoform Sopias run around the track.
Here is my version. Regards

and they are not willing to shell out the bucks for a new pan car or for a
conversion kit. Everyone is happy and every week we get a couple of new
entries. Thanks

The problem with prototype and group C cars is that the bodyshells will start looking like 1/12th cars eventually. The thing I love about world GT is that is it GT "Grand Tourers/Touring" based, something different to the usual wedges. New bodyshells will eventually come out for them.

Hi. We run the Aston Martin DBR9 in USGT but do not use the ugly
Protoform body. Here is what we use. Regards

and no manufacturer wants to make one. I run my CRC Genx-10LE
and have never enjoyed RC racing more. Remember some people like
blondes and some brunettes. Regards

We do not allow wedge type bodies. They must look like the actual car. My TS-020 certainly
does not look like a 1/12 scale wedgy.

25 of us that are mainly over 60 years old and we do not race to be the
top dog or are not sponsored by anyone. We rent an asphalt track twice
a month and go race and drink many beers. The only serious racing I do
is USGT and Nascar Oval. For the oval I use a CRC Battle Axe and still
do well against McPappys and KSG which are numerous. Just wanted
you to know were not crazy but car nuts that have nothing to do as we
are all retired. One disadvantage is wife's are always complaining so
now we take them along and they provide the food. Regards

Norman2, it sure sounds like you guys have a nice setup. I am also over-60 but not yet retired and race mostly for the fun of it. I had a few good years in pan car oval about 20 years ago but then took a 20 year break. I'd love WGT or any other pan car class to take off in my area but it just doesn't happen [several attempts have failed]. I am making do with a GT spec class and planning on VTA. I like the old-school Trans Am bodies. If I ever do retire [very unlikely due to poor planning], I'll have to consider moving to Brevard, NC.
Yeah, I remember seeing a few WGT's up at the C, then the day I show up with one, there isn't one person wanting to run! Gave it a few weeks, but ultimately traded the car for other things.
I would like to see it run also, and at that place, i doubt anyone would care if the body rules were tweeked a bit. If you and at least 2-3 other guys were down, I'd jump back in.
