Just recieve my ElanRX2... On the screen the software version is 1.0... Is this the latest commercial version? Is this charger updatable?

1.0 is the current and only software version. If one gets released I will post it up. I wouldn't expect an update.

So are these able to be updated via USB? Or when/if an update is released do we need to send it in?

Joe if we get a software update we will figure it out for sure. I need to start heading west to race here and there anyway.

Quick feedback after a one-week intensive usage...

The charger is good, the SMT mode seems faster than normal charge mode... But I can't notice any difference on track... The software is quite intuitive...

I cannot understand why they chose to provide a 15A channel and a 10A channel instead of two 12A channels but I can live with that...

Great purchase by the way, compact not so heavy for these kinds of features...

I really recommend it!

I got my RX2 setup yesterday and put it through its paces. I replaced a ton of wiring, power supply, and 2 chargers with it.

I so far really like it, but I am curious about charging speeds. The "Quick Charge" charges as fast as my Pulsar 3 Comps did... if not faster. The Smart Charge takes roughly 30 - 40% longer than the Pulsar's did though. To top off a 2500mAh charge on a 1S pack I had took ~ 45minutes. That said, it only took 49 to top off 3800maH on the same pack so obviously the first part and the bulk of the charge is fast, then the "finishing" takes a while.

I have a question - for battery life and health of the battery - is Smart, Charge, or Quick Charge better? Wondering for practice runs and such. Because the manual somewhat says that the pulsed charge it does is bad for cell life. or maybe that was just one of the many Engrish translation issues in the manual?

Also - no way to mute the charger, not an issue, but it would be nice. I do like the short beeps though when its done.

Overall, this is an awesome charger. I was charging 2 7.4 packs, one at 10A and one at 15A and the charger never broke a sweat, barely got warm.

This is the new hotness:

That replaced all this:

Also attached is a pic of an LRP Pulsar for size comparison. As you can see, from the side, they are almost he exact same size.

I just found the perfect wiring to replace the "I'm prepared to charge 6s LiPO Guys!" cables and balancing plates which are coming with the charger...

As I use LiPO with tubes and 2s 99% of the time, I bought that:

I think it will be perfect!

Are the Elan chargers internally different than the ProSpec brand models?

The Pro-Spec and the Elan R and the same internally.

Pro-Spec currently does not offer the X2 AC/DC charger. Which is why I don't stock the Elan R or the Cronus. I want something unique.

First report having used my x2 at two big meetings in the UK. Excellent.

Use it to power my tyre warmers as well and now half the wiring on my pit table has vanished.

Definitely makes your pit table neat. Charger, batteries, car and the TX with some tools and your set !
