You implied two different things. 1) Where to buy, and 2) What ESC company has the best service.

If you smoke your ESC, you need to deal with the manufacturer, not the place you bought it from. None of the on-line stores warranty the ESC, the manufacturers do. Tekin and Novak probably have the best customer service, followed closely by Castle. Everyone else is pretty much lacking, either in what is covered or how long it takes to get stuff repaired.

There is a list of approved ESCs on the USVTA web site

http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/index.html

For ROAR events, ROAR's VTA rules allow all ROAR Spec ESCs and any vendor's 25.5 motor.

compare gshobby prices to amainhobbies. GS is cheaper (if not they will match) and their location means the product arrives to you quicker.

i like war ricks but they have limited stock on products they don't want to sell....if you hpi or traxxas you're good outside of that they have nothing!

I called for the new protek body for sc's and they didn't have any.... come on they are new and a hot product but you don't have it!

Curious where you saw the new ROAR rules. I've heard the move to 25.5 was in the works but NOTHING on the ROAR website suggests any such change.

Motor Specifications:
25.5 brushless with 2C LiPo: Novak SS25.5 Pro brushless motor (pn:3425V) or Ballistic 25.5 (pn:3625V- stator only pn:S6625) ONLY combined with any hard-cased 2C 7.4v LiPo pack up to and including 5000 mAh capacity. Novak motors are the ONLY motor allowed at this time. All house track rules regarding LiPo usage apply. Only physical motor timing advance is allowed, however Ballistic motors must not be advanced beyond the last line of the timing range sticker. 12.3 mm rotor diameter only (no "tuning" rotors are allowed, only stock Novak rotors allowed). Using ceramic bearings in the motor makes you a dork. No modifications or optional parts allowed on motor can, endbell, stator, or rotor. No cooling holes or other changes allowed to motor
