Agree with you, in my neck of the woods (southern Ontario) SMC is in 90% of the cars. It's rare to find a Trinity or other matchers pack around my area.

Don't be fooled, the R/C and battery business is just like every other - it's all about money. Trinity pays big bucks to advertise in Car Action, and for doing so, they are rewarded.

Car Action magazine has every right to publish whatever they want. I agree that other companies should have a shot in being listed, but as they say money talks...

Guys, not trying to start anything, but did you vote for SMC? Of the people that did vote, Trinity came out on top (even if the people that voted didn't use or have the batteries) It's was a reader's choice/popularity contest. See it for what it is

I used to subscribe to them, but now I have absolutely no respect for them whatsoever.

Man you guys are insane. Look at the AD index in the back. Traxxas DOESN'T advertise that much in any magazine. You guys seem to confuse all the companies that advertise their stuff for the T-Maxx with Traxxas advertising.

I think right now you'll see that AE or OFNA has the most ad pages in RCCA

You can't tell the difference between a 1.195 and a 1.166 in an off-road vehicle anyway.

That being said, I have seen a few people run their packs and they aren't ALL that bad. We as racers need to stop trying to compare #'s from matcher to matcher. They all have slightly different processes and equipment so they'll never equate exactly, whether they all use TM4's or not. Just because your Buddies have Brand X packs that show 10 sec. better run time with .02 volts better per cell, doesn't mean that your brand Y packs aren't actually better!!! Find a Matcher you're comfortable with and stick with their products.

I suggest Power Push.

Dude, sedan racing nitro or electric blew away offroad racing about a year ago,

Post mag awards

Yes we poke fun at the mags for their less than unbiased opinions of products and manufacturers. This certainly should not be any surprise gang. But it is clear at the end of the day this is a business...let them sell their ads. If the Mags P&L reports were too ugly they would dry up and blow away, after of course trading in their AMG's for domestic offerings. Ultimately leaving use no choice but read porn 24/7

So when you think about it they are really bettering society as a whole. So can't we all just look past their inaccuracies from time to time for the good of all mankind?

Maybe out east but every where west of Virginia is still stupid stadium truck country.

I don't get it either.
