I've never heard any complaints. My buddy uses one. The only issue I've had using his is that it's friggin heavy. Well to heavy for me anyway. That was my only problem with it.

I've heard the same comlpaint...but never really minded the weight of the R1...

The menus in the R1 have an overwhelming number of choices, but everything is laid outand there for you to find....I foundn navigating the menus to be very intuitive...

I only got rid of my R1 because I got frustrated at JR customer service not wanting to sell me a small spring that I had broken, wanting instead for me to return the entire radio for service....

Now that they're launching the Spektrum system I kinda wish I'd have kept it

15 yrs???

when did it replace the 756??? it hasn't been THAT long already has it??

I didn't find it much heavier than my buddy's M8, but theM8 I found VERY top heavy and the R1 is nicely balanced

The only bad thing I've heard, is some people have broken a spring connected to the steering wheel. (To center it).
Personally, I don't have one...I haven't had a reason to get rid of my R-756.

I have used my JR 756 since '94. I have been looking at the M8 and the R-1 to replace it lately and I have used both. With the Spektrum system coming out now the choice is even harder. The only feature I would want in the R-1 that the M8 has is the back light. Other than that I like them both. To me the R-1 fits my hand better but I think that is from the 11yrs using the 756. Good luck on your choice.

Nice radio, sorta of hard to navigate through all the programs, but it does have a ton of features,I think the only other radio that has the graphs like the R1 is the Futaba 3PK,It does seem a bit on the heavy side but you dont really notice it when your racing. It has a few cool features that i do like and use, idle up,quick throttle,it does take some time to learn how to use the programs, but it's still one of the best radios on the market.

I have tried almost all the radios out, Multiplex 707, 403, M8, Ko Mars, Hitec CRX, and a few more. Of all the radios my new Jr R-1 has by far been the best. I have the PCM version and since getting this radio have never had a radio hit since then. No matter what car I put it in and no matter how I run the wires or how I bunch up the servo leads or speedo leads I still never have radio hits.

All the other radios I have had a hit at one time or another. The New Jr R-1 is one of the best radios out bar none. When I first got it I thought it was heavy but it is very balanced and I don't have that feeling anymore. It is just a great top of the line radio from a very good company.

wyd,

you have the pcm version, does that depend on which module you have or reciever you use or both???

thanks,

i think i got mine 3 or 4 yrs ago, spent my whole tax return on it, ive never even thought about getting another radio. i still havent used all the features, not that i cant figure it out, theres just so much to do on there.

at first(my previous radio was a jr xr2) it was a lil difficult to navigate but like anything once you do it a few times you understand where the design is coming from and it makes sense.

I LOVE THIS RADIO.

I've had my R-1 for almost 5 years and the thing has been great. I think it is one of the most sophisticated systems out there. I have had the PCM version since day one and I don't think I could ever get rid of it. I may want to get the Pro version sometime but it's not that important to me to spend the coin to get it at this time.

Thumbs up

the problem with this radio is the price!!!

for the price you can get a better model radio..

after so many donkey years, the price is still so high...

and the PCM system works like a charm!!
