If Markus Mobers are matching another brand than Danny, well, he might have his full right to defend that decition, and if you have meet him, it might make sence to you.
I know Markus very well. He is a good guy. Thatīs for sure.
I have never meet Danny either, but man, THAT guy is one heck of a batteriwizzard. There is no smoke-screens or hidden facts there. Only knowledge. And honest figures.

So you can trust him too

Edit: Damn it Anders, you beat me to it
------------------------------------------------------
@Danny:

Makes perfect sense to me!

But I'm sure some people will disagree anyway, just because it's in their nature, or because they have a good reason.
Markus is a good guy as far as I know, and probably has his reasons.

I've never tested anything else than GP3300, so I'm not gonna say a thing

I use a Triton charger for my IB3600 unmatched packs..

On Saturday night, i put one of my packs on the charger after discharging it until the bulbs went out the night before.

I had the cut off set at 4000mah on the charger...

Charged at 5A, the cutoff stopped the charge.. not the peak.

I bought 3 unmatched packs, which cost me between 45-50$ CDN including bars etc (i purchased after and factored into the price)

I am happier than a pig in sh...

And have 3 more packs in the mail as we speak.

Love em

@Danny
Hm, maybe you're right, seems like there are maybe different
batches of IB's and GP's.
I did not want to critisize SMC or anybody else, its just funny
how people interpretate something said sometimes

To me its just really important to give people the latest
experience, cause I can remember 20 years ago when me and
my Dad started RC racing, lots of people fooled us.
(does not mean anybody gets fooled here, guess you know
what I mean)

@Anders
I did not say that Danny is a jerk. He knows what he is doing.

@Martin
He dude, still alive?? Long time ago, when I was a little boy and
raced for Corally

See ya,
Markus

Yes these cells have do have a very different power band.... also I"m on my 10th cycle on my SMC IB 3600 packs and they are just as strong as they were afte rthe 5th charge..and the run time still has not fallen off and thats racing 8 min heats with 23T motors

Markus: No problem everyone has an opinion. Matching cells is my job and yes SMC has allot of investment in IB cells but we didn't change to IB just because we wanted something different. The IB cells we tested proved to us that IB had a great product and SMC is all about selling the best possible cells. This is also why we never did any Sanyo cells to us they weren't good enough.

In the end the paying customer will decide what cell is the best.

I am friends with someone who matches batteries and he has mentioned that the cells are eratic when running them on the matchers for ex: some cells are at 400 sec runtime and some go up to 470. Basically the cells arent like gps where the cells are between 400 to 420.
The specs arent consistant. The groups are'nt that close. Is this something you have incounterd and fixed with your matching process?

Danny this isnt a bash post just wanted to see if this was something you encounterd.

Please give dates and info as soon as possible. Spring is coming up quickly and with so many races to plan for we need to make sure we (Team Orion) can attend.
