O.K,Bottom line,If you are in the market to buy a new battery are these cells the one's to buy or stick with what we all know what works.(I run SMC GP3300 for TC)
Money is hard to come these days and don't want to buy something so new and be disappointed with them.

you will not be disappointed. i've ran these cells for about a week and have been very pleased. i've let other racers use them to get there opinion also. so far so good.

Default Intellect

Intellect cells are great. I am running the 3300's unmatched and perform as good or better than my "name brand" matched packs. The 3600's are supposed to be even better and Danny at SMC is second to none.

Mr.Blondie-You have been awfully quite here as of late??????
I can say for one your knowledge of cells Is kinda SAD.....

There hasnt been a GP cell with a 1.1 Ir in all the cells me and like 10 matchers have matched so you must be VERY SPECIAL or your stuff needs to be sent off for some very NEEDED UPDATING.....lol

Sorry dude I dont hold punches to people that dont know what the heck they are talking about.

The Gp3700 cells have been quite the disappointment really expecially since GP has got proud of their cells and it shows due to their rising cost.

The 3rd generation of GP3300s are a better cell than the GP3700 in voltage and ir.The ONLY thing the 3700 wins in is runtime and it's not even that much.Thats simply due to more MAH.

The IB3600 cells have been nothing short of amazing expecially for the price to matchers and the consumer.
3rd-4th charge they are on FIRE.Punch is better, amazing voltage and about the same increase in runtime out of a cell that is smaller in diameter than the Gp3700.

So Im not sure if you work for GP or they are hooking you up in the under the desk type way but what your spewing is JUNK and a LIE.Sorry guys maybe this way of thinking wasnt needed Im just SUPER TIRED of certain people that dont have a clue and then try to spread their disease of BAD KNOWLEDGE to people that dont know.

I have 20+ cycles on my IB's and LOVE them in Offroad, stock sedan,19 sedan and 1/12th scale.

Do NOT deadshort these cells.Discharge to 5.4 for 6/3.6 for 4 and then if you wanna tray them simply tray them before recharging.
If your going to recharge the same day please allow an hour to hour and a half between charges so the inner part of the cell cools off as well.

Goodluck to everyone racing and bashing.

Thanks Tex - I agree with ya and that's my plan for care of my pack.

We're kinda working out how we (in our class) are going to deal with the cells and "legality", etc.

If it isn't recommended to dead short the IB3600's then once you are racing for the day then what would be the best way to store the packs untill the next race weekend? And is it going to do any long term damage to discharge at 30amps? Instead of the 35amps that they are matched at? The reason why I am sking is because I have always discharged at 30 and a few of my racing buddies have tried the 35 amp dicharges and wasn't impressed with the out come. Now of course that was on GP's. When I get my IB's Danny, do you recommend to change my dicharge rate to 35?

I believe the 35A discharge is only for matching process. You can discharge your battery 35A, 30A, 25A or even 20A to 5.4V per packs after every run

OK, I do understand you have to defend the IB cell,
and sure its not bad.
Sure, lots of matchers bought those cells and have
to get them sold somehow, otherwise they just
lay down in stock.

Yes, we had IR's of 1.1 to 1.5, but not measured on a
Turbomatcher, thats what you all in the US use.
I can only say, we had 460-470 sec and 1.18 to 1.19 on with
30 A, 0.8 cutoff, with the GP 3700's.

Competition will let us see, what works best
By the way.....
Orions track test on rcworld.ch showed the same thing.
Take care,
Markus

I found it wierd that Orion only present there test on RC World web, and not on there own. On the other hand, why did not RC World do there own test? As far as I know, Orion donīt sell IB....

Anders, other point of view:
Why should the most succeful matcher in world
not match IB's if they were better than anything else

Anyway, there is no need to fight each other now, as I said,
cometition will show!

back to IB3600 batteries..

i don't get SMC, Danny, can you explain how do you get these number like 360 of runtime @ 35 amps?

i got now a few unmatched cells.. tried charging one cell @6, then discharge ant 30 amps... i use futaba cdr-5000... and i got only 300 secs of runtime, ave voltage is ONLY about 1 volt, not 1,1 or something like this, and the discharge curve really su**s! the cell simply does not hold the voltage...btw, and the capacity i got discharging is approxx 2500 mah

this is the second charge to the cell, but i don't think the third one will be different ???

what's wrong ?

btw, Danny, please check your PMs...

2500 discharge capacity on a brand new 3600 cell? There is must be something wrong.
Maybe it's not the battery. Do you already try to cycle them using CE Turbo 35?
