Kind of looks like a mutant 414.

Wow Batman...holy shades of Alex Racing and Robitronics !! Curious why this would be considered ONLY a drift chassis. Given the weight differences with Lipo's and the effect on weight bias, a setup like this could give pretty nice weight distribution...assuming it allows for lipo hardcase packs.

Tamiya is proud to announce the release this High-End Drift Machine. This machine adopts a front midship motor layout (motor within wheelbase) for optimum balance which is essential to drift driving. The upper frame features vertically mounted carbon plates which improve chassis rigidity while also providing enough flexiblity during drifting. The parallel geometry steering system provides this machine with excellent control of counter steering. The especially designed battery holder is adjustable and is compatible with Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, LF batteries. Glass tape can also be used to secure the battery.
About the Model
-This is a 1/10 R/C assembly model kit.
-Front: Ball Diff., Rear: Spool Diff.
-Carbon chassis 2mm thick.
-Front and rear universal shafts.
-Aluminum hex hubs.
-TRF Dampers (Case: Fluorine Coated, Shaft coating: Normal)
-Short reversible suspension arms.
-Uprights feature 1050 ball bearing specifications.
-TA05 Front and rear bulkheads (Resin).

Looks similar to the Square TA05 Drift conversion, but better put together, as would be expected of it coming from the factory, of course.

Interesting how they have the little extensions to the knuckles to increase ackerman.

Hello all, I will soon be a proud owner of a TA-05 v2 soon, but I cannot find parts for the life of me for the car. Would anyone know of an online shop IN THE US, that has parts? I checked Speedtech RC and they are mostly out of stock on parts.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to send me a PM if you wish.

I haven't found anyone in the US besides Tower. Hong Kong is where all the parts are!

That's a crazy looking car. I am surprised they kept the TA05 designation as it doesn't look like it shares much with the normal TA05.

As far as buying Tamiya parts, I can usually find what I need from Speedtech, Amp Draw, or direct from Tamiya USA. If not, my friends and I will chip in and place a large order from RC Market or RC Mart in China. Shipping is usually only $15-20 and takes a week or less.

It's a ta05 because it has ta05 drivetrain and suspension.

Here is another question, due to my lack of how Tamiya cars are designed: when I look on Ampdraw's site, I noticed that the parts they have listed shows TB01, TA04, TRF415, etc. Since I do not have the car in my possesion yet (will be here Friday), how do I know what to stock up on or at least to get part numbers now so I can get spares later? I am getting quite confused with all the different car types listed in the parts section for AmpDraw.

Edit: I should add that I am looking for parts for the TA-05 IFS v2. There are so many other car types listed for parts on this chassis type.

tamiya is known to share parts across platforms. Usually one set of suspension is used on all their cars from the same generation. Even then, you can still mix and match older parts. Only proprietary parts would be chassis and bulkheads. Everything else can be shared from other cars of the same generation.
