Yes and no. the black art r10 lmp is close but I think it would be bad ass if there were some more scale realism....

Yeah, I know all about Tamiya bodies. I have the Mustang Type R body on my TL01 and that one I showed before is their Advan LMP for 1/10 F1 chassis. I doubt it would fit my TL01 chassis plus they want $77 for the painted one.

I guess if I want an open cockpit, it's the R10..... For closed, I like the mowhawk!

I just started 1/12 long ago and the most important thing for me was tires. Buy enough to change out tires every round. Before next raceday cut/true then compensate for ride height and gearing.

Default FDR and Rollout

Finally got to run last night for the 1st time. Not bad, my gearing was a little off i believe. The track is 75x75 and does have a fewer higher speed straights. I was running the stock 96T Spur with a 35T Pinion. This gave me a FDR of 2.74 but it seemed the car still didnt have enough top end even with boost and timing pretty high. I didn't true tires b/c i dont have the 1/12 CRC adapter so my rollout was 55. Is a higher rollout better? After about a 7-8 minute run i brought the car in and the motor was still cool 105 degrees. What FDR ratio should i be near? I have heard low 2s but i have seen setups that people have down into 1.6-1.7.

Pretty newbie question,

From my observation, most of the 1/12 scare racers carry a lot of spare tires with them.
How many sets of tires would someone need to race the 12th scale?

The lighter lipo cars are new to me but I say 4 sets of each strain/compound is sufficient

Mod magenta/pink

Stock Black/yellow

Greater recent 12th participants will have more refined answers but that is my two cents

Could any one post a typical good bang for the buck 1/12 setup for a beginner?

I read many threads and the 1/12th guide already but need your opinion

Why would black/yellow be no good for Mod, especially on carpet?

Do you have organized racing in your area ?
If so, ask the experts there, maybe even pickup a sweet 2nd hand car that is already dialed in, that's how I started

If you just want something to go your own way with, the RM-01 is the only 12th scale complete with tires, wheels, bodyset & decals

There are no BAD 12th scale cars, pick the one that works best for your needs
