I think that rczone is a credible source so I suspect that they are talking about a new car that we havenīt seen anywhere yet.
If you didn't look close you would think they are the same car. The only part that can be used from the exsisting car on the prototype from what I heard is the top deck. If you look at it the motor is moved far enough forward that only 5 battery slots can be cut in to the chassis on the left side. So when the car is ran with split batteries the back cell on the left side is inline with the front cell on the right side. And all the suspension pieces are different with mild changes in placement. I've heard now that it is just going to be an update kit for the rear bulkhead. Now this is the prototype that they ran at Worlds and the guys are running here in the states. If there is another prototype we haven't seen it appear on this side of the pond yet.

There is a prototype car out there because I have seen one firsthand. It has a split chassis that moves the left side batteries all the way foward, and the right side all the way back. It also has completely different front and rear bulkheads which are lower than the FK and have cams that raise, lower, and move the diffs front and rear to change center of gravity and weight bias. I also think this driver was using a proto steering bellcrank. As far as new suspension geometry and new plastics I honestly couldn't tell. From what I understand there are no plans to release a new kit, maybe just an upgrade package. As far as other protos being out there , it is possible but I can only report on what I actually saw with my own two eyes.

I did look very closely as you can see from the pictures that I took..

My point simply is that this is still prety much the same car. Not worth puting it into production. This is what they said at least. In fact in the end if you look closely at my pics, Jilles Groskamp ended up running a stock FK in the finals in which he did much better than qualifying...

And with the new bulkheads you cannot use the old upper deck. The new upperdeck needs to be shorter.

Check out the pics. I begin with the prototype...

And now Gilles car from the finals. Stock FK. Only the chassis is different as he likes to play around with configuration of batteries.

One more.

So my point is that this is NOT the car that rczone is talking about as it still has the same drive train configuration.

If the rumors of a TRF 415 look alike are true then we are talking about a completely new car. I have not seen such a car..

raving-monkey,
I know this is old stuff. That is my point. I posted these pics just to show that this car has been around since the worlds.

Default I didn't get a change to read all this...

but I hope they make a shaft car with black parts like their new 1/8th scale buggy. Sweet! Anyway if they make one, they will come. No doubt.
