It didn't take much effort to get the tire's to work for the carpet nats and our lap times were just as fast as they were with the Sorex tire.

after testing all of the available rubber tires over the past 2-3 years on our outdoor ashphalt track with medium grip. all of the top drivers in our club agree that takeoff 27r with supplied Medium insert is the best tire going.

I almost all conditions, bar extreme heat or damp condtitions this compound has been quickest!.

all track records and current top ten drivers in stock and mod at our club use this tire on asphalt.

we have used sorex in hot temps, and the sorex 36 does work better if the temp soars. if the track is damp the takeoff 22r, or schumacher treaded 21mm wet tires work best.

I have spend the time and money to test em all...and we keep going back to takeoff!
using the new 2002 compound tire and inserts on the weekend I found the wear to be a little better than the previous M insert, as there was very little of the infamous ribbing on the inside edge of the tire after 6 Runs with a mod.
these tires have been good for 30 runs with a mod at our track, and nearly double that with a stock.

Over here it was a different story, when a couple guys who went were trying to get them to work.

I just bought my pre-mounted CS-22 and CS-27 from Lightspeed. I ran a set a while back and find them to last longer and track better than Sorex on asphalt, my experiences. Another brand I like are RJ's rubber tires. Very sticky.

i think RJ's are made from Japan like the Sorex. they're thicker than the Sorex and good tire wear. i haven't tried it yet but i saw one with my friend!

Picco007 and PatellaDragger-

You will be able to buy the premounted and possibly the unmounted Take Off CS tires right here in Memphis. Not only that, but you will be able to purchase them at a discounted rate similar to the Carpet Nats price because Schumacher is sponsoring the Beat The Heat Race and selling tires to HT disounted so they can in turn sell them to us discounted.

Pretty cool of Schumacher to do that, Huh? They are seriously trying to help boost our hobby. I'm very pleased with all that Schumacher is doing.

Just to give you something to compare- last year Losi sent us a $50 discount gift certificate (off of full retail) to use on Losi parts... which was worth about $20 in reality. Trinity didn't do crap. Losi and Trinity are exponentially larger than Schmacher USA, but who comes through with sponsorship? Right- Schumacher. They are also sending prizes for the club to give away at the race.

My point is this: All of us (racers) should keep these things in mind when you decide where you want to spend your money. I know the big companies sponsor the BIG races and National events (as does Schumacher) but it the small and medium size guys like us that keep the hobby going all over this country. How many times would you race per year if there were only National events?

BTW your MIP is on the way .
