Default help needed

Hi i got a traxxas rustler i am setting up for on road speed runs only. I have a hobbywing 5.5t 6000kv motor with a hobbyking 100 amp esc on it. I was wondering what is the highest cell lipo battery i can run in this without hurting the motor. I ran a 3s with it when i had the 60a hobbywing esc with it and i burned up the esc. So i upgraded to a 100amp. Also was wondering what would be the best gearing set up for this also. Any help would be apprieted thanks
