Very nice Mr. Stormer!!

I'll have to get one or two and add one to the display case and one to race. I still like the HB Nissan for the tracks I run, so I'll compair the two in April when I head off for first nitro race of the season. Always take the 235 2s/10.5 car and it normally draws a fair amount of spectators.

As to the class, 2s/10.5 is fast so when you loose it and you will, the US style tracks will do lots of damage. If you did 13.5 and no timing or 17.5/21.5 with timing should be about the same speed and more than drivable.

We could also allow 200mm cars to run as 1s cars. Similar bodies or GT. Heck this could make a good show like IMSA or current GrandAm style racing

My 2 cents. and yes I'm in the upper age group

Could someone give me the measurements of the inner side of the cockpit? I think i found a suitable driver figure. Getting excited now... any news on the other 235mm body? I want to make a combined shipping

Bob or Tallyrc could you measure the flat piece of the cockpit for me? It would help me to eyeball if a certain driver figure would fit.

Bob, that's a really nice looking TOJ. I like how you made it look more realistic by keeping the air scoop behind the cockpit. All the old TOJ bodies I've seen before never had that.

I've been wanting to do something with this old class for years, and recently when Dave Irrgang found a stash of old TOJ bodies in his collection and offered them for sale - I jumped on the first 4 of them and dug the old RC10L out of mothballs and have it mostly together...

At the FREEDOM PARK RACEWAY in Camarillo CA they are running a wide pan car class using 1c/10.5 open timing setups... (I can go that way) but for Oval I'm a Die Hard 2s/21.5 guy, and too think that could be a sweet combo if the car balances out ok.
I think the 2s 21.5 would be a great way to get people out to support 1/10pan again. All they need is a saddle pack 2s and electronics from their offroad buggy to get setup. No need to hassle with 1s electronics or rx batteries or boosters.

Would be nice to dust out the old 10L (mine still has the old school front end). Definitely would try to make it out to see all the old guys from the Ranch Pit Shop days if there was a local 1/10 pan series.

All the VINTAGE Talk - here's a Vintage Video to go along with it...(I just posted this in the On-Road section as well.

VIDEO from the 1st EVER 1/10th Scale IFMAR World Championship On-Road race held at the FAMOUS Ranch Pit Stop in Pomona CA.

(Compared to todays cars - MAN oh MAN do these look slow! It's no wonder it's so hard to get newbies in these days - THESE were the BEST of the BEST 20 years ago...going faster than LIGHTNING at the time!)

+ YouTube Video

The AE TOJ was modeled after the short version, which had the intake kind of in the cockpit:

That is great news, the TOJ, has always been my favorite 1/12 and 1/10 body. Here is my 10L as some may have seen, with the Associated TOJ, and Sees Wheels. If all goes well, I can look forward to putting one on the YRX10.
