Default Cold Heat Soldering Gun

Anybody try this thing?
https://www.asseenontvnetwork.com/vc...ldheat/115808/
It can reach 50W but says that it reaches it using an
electrical current on the tip. Wouldn't this kill your cells?

I think this was brought up in another forum a few months ago .. From what was posted it doesnt work very well for our application. Just look at the so called r/c car there soldering the wires on .. this one might even be diffrent than the one talked about awhile back , but it sounds the same .... I dont think it will have any effect on the cells we use today , but then again I havent tried it ... if you do Let us all know how it works out..

The best thing about the "Cold Heat" soldering tool is the DUMBASS commercial!!!

Quote:

"It works because it is powered by COLD HEAT!!!"

W-in the living F is "Cold Heat?!?!?"

Ever notice how most of those TV commercials are made like we are all a bunch of idiots?!?

When I think about it, it actually pisses me off....

I played with one at the track last week. not impressed. I used a scrap piece of Deans 12ga wire, and got it to heat up maybe a fourth of the wire enough to take solder. I think if you were soldering maybe 22ga wire or smaller it would be a great tool
