Default New to on-road hello!

Hey guys I'm fairly new to the r/c world and brand new to on-road. Today I picked up a RTR Carisma GT14 BMW and man this little guy is cool! I switched out the receiver for my spectrum but other than that its stock. I live down the road from a cool little indoor track where its only 5 bucks to practice all night and 15 every saturday for racing september-march. I really want to get into this for fun. I'm trying to fix my car up before I go back into the military(march 6th) whats some good but not to expensive hop-ups like suspension or even the carbon fiber chassis? I have no clue lol. Or would it even be good to go brushless? I have a 1/10th B4, T4, and 2wd slash(forsale). And run them pretty well, I just love the carpet scene and would like to have some fun. I found a new 1800 lipo for 40$ is that good battery wise? Thanks for reading I know I'm all over but I'm just trying to have a decent set up and then work on my skills. Thanks!
