I dunno...I have a feeling the JRX-S will set the new standard in sedan racing. Two Losi's made the recent Worlds main and the prototype had only been out for a couple of weeks. The JRX-S also tq'ed at the recent US Indoor Champs. With it's short arm design, tweak free chassis, and frictionless lvd's (patent pending), it's gonna be a tough car to beat.

Off topic, sorry Johnbull where is Malta? just curious.

You know, everyone has a different reason why the run a particular car. Its nice to now have a wide selection instead of just AE and Losi. All the current cars are winners so just run what you like and forget what everyone else says.

While we are off topic, Jaime hope to see you at SSH Sunday.

To be sorta on topic. I feel its a waste to switch cars just because the fast guy at a track runs 1. istarted out with the same car i have now 3 years ago. You just have to learn the car and you will do fine. BTW i run a tc3, and do rather well with it.

Same thoughts for 12th scale, especially due to all cars being so dang similar, the only major difference is how the batteries are held in in most cases. Yea sorry off topic again.

Default American Technology...

Everyone knows HPI is a big contender in the TouringCar field... (i.e. the PRO4)..

I think it should be pointed out that the HPI PRO4 was designed by an AMERICAN rite here in sunny California... by Eric Shauver..

As far as speculation, I think the new LOSI will make a lasting impression... Has made some good results in its prototype stage...

At the worlds the competition is so stiff that ANY manufacturer can be out of the A because of tenths of seconds. I heard that the Xray guys had trouble finding a great setup with a front spool (solid axle).

I think the Xray get so much hype because it is such a fine piece of workmanship. Also because it is such a stable car and thus easy for beginners to drive with box stock setups.

That said, from the things I've seen and read I feel the new Losi IS a comparable "luxury" TC. And if it handles anything like one might conclude from it layout it will most likely be a much more stable car than the Xray (centered weight makes mistakes easier to correct).

As for the original debate... the US has been a hardcore offroad racing scene for the past decade. That may have something to do with the seemingly secondary nature of TCs here.

Default Best car

Why is it that everyone feels that Losi is the "BEST" car? If you would just take a look at the amount of people running as team drivers and the wannabes that follow these "team" drivers you will see that they overwhelm the racing , not because they are the best, but because so many racers are "followers" and do not think that anything else out there can win. Some of the major racers in the European races use products from HPI, Tamiya, X-Ray, Kawada , and a slew of others, and guess what?, on any given day they will be the "best" car. It's time for the American scene to realize that the Team drivers are NOT using products that you will get in a Team kit. If you think that a manufacturer has team drivers winning and then giving the public the same items just so that a newbie can beat them, oh well, it;s laughable
I have the opinion that anyone of you racing, whatever vehicle you want to run, can be the winner of a race, and it does not have to be the "Best" vehicle. All it takes is lots of practice, and then more practice!!!!

I don't think that's entirely true. The American teams do a ton of "post-production" development. Not too long after a major event, you can get the same parts that Blackstock or Lemieux used to win those events. The only problem is, when you show up at the next major event the cycle starts all over.

The other thing I love is all the whining about not being able to get the parts the team guys have access to. Everyone wants the best car possible, and noone realizes that half the parts you see on these cars will never see production because they don't work, or have exceptionally limited applications. Team drivers do R&D and test things that may or may not work. You want what you see on their cars, but do you know what the parts actually do? Guys like Blackstock, Baker, Hara etc. can drive so well that a part may actually be hindering the performance of the car, but they can win in spite of it, and then give that data to the designers/engineers at the companies they run for. Then everybody wants the magic widgets they think gave the advantage that won the race.
