Default CORCAR is becoming Mid Ohio RC

The asphalt track formerly known as CORCAR in Columbus, OH is under new ownership and a new name. We will be known as Mid Ohio RC. The website is also changing from www.corcar.com to www.midohiorc.com
We just purchased the domain so it is going to take a couple of days or weeks to get it up and running. Until midohiorc.com is up we can be contacted at

Mid Ohio RC

Thanks

An awesome place to race, great local racers, great organization, and from what I've heard they've lined up some pretty stellar announcing (LOL) for the upcoming season. Many of the Midwest's best racers run at Mid Ohio RC, and the competition is intense. I urge everybody to come out and run, you won't be disappointed.

Can you give some more detail on the track surface and what classes were popular last year?

Ray
Ray, The track is semi-abrasive asphalt. It offers excellent grip, the drivers' tower is one of the tallest I've ever seen at a parking lot facility. Stock Electric TC and Nitro TC were the two big classes last year. You can regularly find drivers such as Junior Norton, Mo Denton, Mike Pulfer, Jeff Gilligan, Kevin Evanichko and lil' ol' me, out there mixing it up on Sunday. Last year for the big trophy race (Road Rage), Dave Johnson, Greg Anthony and several others made the trek from Michigan to run with us. It's top notch to say the least.

I'm not sure about this year but last year was "open tire", so foams were the ticket in electric.

We are currently trying to get permission to seal the track area. I think this was the biggest complaint of last year. The track is smooth but too abrasive for most.

Sealing the track is big!! After runing gas cars for a couple summers-the sealed tracks built grip up much better and saved tires once grip came up too. I hope they let you do it. If it helps-the gas track in Mentor Ohio in the parking lot of a BIG shopping mall let them seal the track area. I think its a Simon Mall if that helps you sway them in some way.
