I had the same issue. The Spintec showing more than the capacity that was put into the battery.

I think it's because of the way it discharges. Being a pulse discharge, during the "off" portion of the cycle the battery voltage seems recovers so it takes longer to reach the cut off voltage (in addition to the fact that it's off half the time). The discharger then calculates the results since its not a linear discharge.

Keep us informed on what Spintec say.

I will wait for the verdict from Spintek.

For the sake of argument, though, If what you say is true, that would seem to defeat the purpose of sales and marketing and future sales; For a company to advertise the unit will give you how much 'juice' was left in a battery after a race would be misleading.

I have been patiently waiting for a response from Spintek about questions posted on this thread for over a week now...

I agree with what you're saying.

To do a quick check on the voltage recovery, next time you discharge, watch the volts carefully for a period of time. I have noticed that once in awhile the voltage reading is higher than what it was a moment before. To me this tells me there is a "recovery" from the battery. This in turn makes it even longer to reach the cut off volt so the discharger calculates more juice left over.

Hi Guys...I went through a few pages but can't find what I'm looking for.

I just acquired 2 V2 battmans, I would like to say that its a vast improvement from the V1s I had.

I was wondering, whats the CC, CV or CP mode?? I know its been asked before but I simply can't find it.

Thanks in advance...

CP = the fastest method of discharging
CV = holds the voltage at the end longer on the same volts
CC = Better for old batteries i Thought

This is reply from Spintec.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear B.S.,

Thank you for your email. CC, CP and CV are discharge modes:

CC Constant Current:
Current is kept constant until voltage cut-off: most accurate for testing packs.

CP Constant Power:
Power is kept constant until voltage cut-off: quickest way to discharge a pack

CV Constant Voltage:
Current is kept constant until voltage cut-off, then current is reduced with constant voltage. This way maximum energy is taken out of the pack: best mode for pack maintenance.

So for mainenance and normal use CV works best. Hope this is of any help to you!

Best regards,
Erik Jonk

I have both the version 1 and version 2 Batman's. Just like anyone else, I like the V2 a lot more.

For those who has both the V1 and V2 ,

Did you noticed that the IR readings shown by the V1 is a always lot higher(most of the time about double) then the V2 when used to discharge the same battery pack. I have tried discharging the same pack with V2 on one cycle and the next cycle V1 and visa-versa. The result is the same.

Actually it does make me feel good about the pack. But for some reason there is this little voice behind my head keep telling me that the pack is junk.

On a serious note, comments gentlemen?

Does it run like junk? If it runs like junk then it is junk and if it runs better, then it will be junk later

fisrt of all sorry for my english i don't practise it very often.

I've got the batman and i've only tested it with two fully charged 3300 gp selected batts and these are the results i've had:

1st - 517 seconds, Voltage 7,52, energy 116, capacity 4599 y IR 46.5

2nd - here comes the problem, i,ve tryed so many times to discharge this batt. But the first time it hanged showing 7,70 voltage, then the other tries, it stops working without any sense, the batman turns off and that's all.

Any help will be wellcomed.

Thank you very much.
