quality is second to none. customer service is top notch (if you have a problem, send it back and they'll replace it for you)

hey erik i have a couple questions i just recently got a battery manager a couple of days ago and i been runinng so test on my older practice packs. i used it on some gp3300 and some ib3600 cells is it normal for a fully charged pack to take 5-6 hours to dicharge ,and would puting a fan to blow over the spintec affect the numbers it puts out after it has fully discharged a pack. i read a article in a rc mag that said it makes a poping noise when discharging a battery my don't make any kind of noise does that mean it aint working right just wondering thanxs joey

Hello Joey,
Yes, its normal that discharging can take that long (because of the cooling-down periods). Putting a fan on the unit does not affect the numbers, but it is not really necessary. It is designed to run that hot. On the other hand, it will not harm it, so feel free to use a fan. Regarding the noise from the batteries, it is a very low clicking sound. You really have to bring your ear close to the pack to hear it. If the unit finishes the discharge cycle normally, than I am sure that the unit is fine. It either discharges with the clicking sound, or it does not discharge at all. But if you still feel something is wrong, email me at [email protected] and we will check it out!

Rich, it's going fine. We are still testing prototypes and trying some ideas on it. But it does not really have our priority (the ICC charger has!).

Erik

I have a problem with my Batman. When discharging it will frequently "hang" - just stop mid scroll on startup, restart itself or fade before finishing the cycle. Any thoughts?
Unfortunately I don't have the packaging any more to send it back to the shop I bought it from in. Can you help?

Paul

Paul, sorry for the problem. Of course I would be happy to help you out, just send in your unit and I will ship a new one to you. See your PM box for details.

I have no experience with dead shorted cells, one might expect that the effects of the Battery Manager is the same as on other cells. Maybe someone overhere has experience with this?

The unit was mainly designed for discharging a pack after racing. We have not noticed any difference in performance increase between discharging a full pack and discharging the remains after a race.

I Deadshort and use the after every run.....Funny thing about Deadshorting, once you do it...the damage is done. Runtime might see a very slight increase but as you continue to DS you kind of take away that increase regardless. So my conclusion is yes it will help your runtime...but once you put it back in the DS tray or what ever you use to DS you kind of loose it so...No loose or gain either way. I guess it helps cause your DS will proform better longer so that is why I use the . PERIOD.
Erik....Any plans on making the IIC next year?...seems to be the race to be at now.
