HORIZON has them now shipping. It does take a few uses per pack to see results but am impressed so far.

up to 39 cycles now on different batts, i do it at home now instead of track side
i race 27t/19t mainly so there is so much juicy liucy in there it would take for ever to do it trackside

big question coming here

I am looking at getting this discharger. Anyway, my questions are:

Is it any good for the intellect cells (3600 and 3800)?

Do you need to have a "tray" type discharger as well as the spintech?

If so, what is recommended?

Has anyone noticed any performance differences when using the spintech unit on new batteries?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

dirty
i feel they are more benificial to older cells, as new ones have very low IR
it`s just as soon as you start to charge & race your new cells resitance start`s to build from crystaling in side the cell
this is where the spintech comes in

i would assume so re;intellect cells reason ;;is because they will get build up of resistence aswell

as for individual traying
i have the LRP/Nosram 3amp board ,doesn`t take long atall after the spintech has done it`s job

i have noticed my promatch 1.165`s go very well indeed & they are a year old now still take
3800 ish in
9.2 peak
eagle charger show`s internal res; down to 36 used to be 50 odd

i race stock alot (27t) this does show on track in the punch area

Mr. Jolly,
Good to hear it's still working...be my guest and try to break it
(without running over it with a truck, which I have seen by the way...not good)
Charger is coming soon, be patient!

DirtyDog3375:
Yes we have good experiences also with the Intellect cells. Most racers do also tray their cells after discharging it with the Battery Manager. It keeps your cells nicely balanced.

Today, I noted that Horizon has the Spintec Battery Manager on sale for $109.99; so, I thought it was time to buy one. Called my lhs and was quoted $89.99. I'm gettin' one for sure now.

Erik- I just ordered my battery mngr. (will be here late this week) So I have a few questions.

1. should I discharge my packs as soon as I come off the track or let them cool?

2. can (or should) I tray my packs after it's done on your discharger? (I normally store my cells deadshorted)

3. if I do tray them is there one that you recomend?

I've read alot of this thread and am impressed by the testimonials that is my I'm picking one up. If it can increase the lifespan of cells alone it's worth the money.

Thanks
Roly

Putting them on the Spintec right after you run them won't hurt the batteries, they will actually get cool because of the pulsing. The thing to worry about heat with batteries is to just make sure your batteries are completely cool before charging.
Yes, you still need to tray your cells afterwards to equalize them, any tray out there will do the job, so no need to spend extra $$$ on ones that cost a lot and do stuff that you don't need, like the Integy/Duratrax 30A tray. A simple equalizer tray like the Trinity Real Time will work perfect.
