Reviving a TC3
I found a TC3 at a yard sale and have decided to make it a dual purpose LiPo car (drag/drift)....but here's my problem I have no idea what (motor/esc/batt) combo to run.I've been away from the hobby for awhile so I'm behind on what's hot. I know drifting doesn't need alot of power but I don't wanna be under powered when I want to spank somebody dragging or drifting. I don't wanna a budget setup, but I don't want go broke either. Any suggestions and info?

If you're not into racing, this will get you started.
http://www.nitrorcx.com/07e-combo-js4.html http://www.nitrorcx.com/98p-40c-5000...se-direct.html I just converted mine to rally with that same speedo but with a 17.5 motor and its already quite fast. As for hop-ups, I found the TC3 spool for the front end for about $20 on Ebay and that made it very controllable. |
Thanks for that link......How fast can this setup get me? If you was going for "ALL OUT" speed what setup would you use?

Here's one: http://www.nitrorcx.com/07e-4-5t-365...-120a-lcd.html A word of warning, if you don't know what you are doing, you can easily fry your motor or ESC. The new ESC have the ability to change timing at full throttle making the motor go crazy fast. However, if you don't gear the motor properly, you can overheat / burn up the motor. Also there's quite a bit of programming involved to understand otherwise you run the risk of overloading your ESC if programmed wrong. |
