Default Best Motor/Esc Combo For Under $100?

Hey guys,

I was thinking of upgrading my sprint 2 drift, and I want to start by upgrading to brushless. I also want an esc. I'm using it only for drifting. I was looking at the Ezrun 9t motor/esc combo. Is this any good? What else are some good suggestions?

Thanks

drifting is 100% about throttle control. That motor is sensorless so its low-rpm throttle control will be junk. Sensorless motors are fine for stuff that doesn't need fine control like boats or planes, cars and especially drifters really need better. Hobbypartz may have other stuff for sale but sensored is a must if you want to drift well. If you are just looking for more speed then the sensorless may be okay.

Hey Falken, I just set up a JL10e Drift with a 3000KV EZrun motor and it works great. It has great power and it very easy to modulate the throttle even though it is a sensorless system. I drift with my car all the time, then when I throw on some nice grippy street tires the motor will rocket the car to about to 45mph. It could definitely go a bit higher if I geared it out, the motor is really powerful. Overall it is a great system for the money IMO, I have the 3000kv as well as a 5.5t 6000kv that I just dropped in the normal JL10 shaft TC, should be a rocket ship
