Red face BlackKat's 2005 Shell

Yo,

I'm currently running a Parma Alfa on my....uh...double deck, dual belt tourer. Rubber Tire Stock on medium grip carpet

Mazda 6 feels great except for the excessive turn in

I'm looking for something without the drastic turn in of a Mazda 6 BUT the responsiveness, downforce and otherwise feel of the 6.

Edit:
A) Has to be a Protoform shell
B) Anyone try the Cadilac CTS?

Thanks -Dan

I'm running the Caddie CTS.

Sweet body, good performance. Actually very neutral, similar to my old Andys Stratus.

Plus it looks boss.

I'm considering a Caddy shell. I've tried everything else out there

My Findings
Stratus 1.0: Balenced, Good starting point
Stratus 2.0: Slightly more downforce. Slightly more front biased
Parma Alfa: Neutral, Feels a little more aero than Stratus 1
Mazda 6: Great! Just too much #$@%! turn-in
Nemasis: Pushed a lot, No front traction (I'll probably end up trying again with the wing cut down to legal height)

Parma Alfa seems to be a great base to work from I'm wanting to try a Start 3.0 to compare to my Parma but their not availible yet

Caddy or Strat for rubber tire carpet on an Xray?

you ever tried the hpi aero2?

i found that to work really well on flowing tracks, but the mazda6 is still the daddy indoors

imo you should give the aero2 a go, i will be getting one soon ready for the outdoor
season, tey work brilliant outdoors, even on large flowing indoor tracks.

From what I felt, the CTS is a very twitchy body. Just looking at it you can see it has lots of steering and downforce. As for the Aero 2 i thought that it has much less downforce than say, Mazda. But that might be good in some instances to "free" the car up a little.

You might try Losi's Alfa. I am not sure where it falls on the continuum of the bodies that you you listed, but (all things being the same) I find that the Losi Alfa has less turn in than the Mazda 6 but maintains much of it's aggressive characteristics. It is still my body of choice for most conditions. But, I am learning that this is definately a product of personal preference.

I agree with Aura, that the CTS is a twitchy body. And as traction increases (indoors as the "groove" sets) it can be a little too responsive.

I wouldn't recommend a CTS if you are attempting to neutralize turn-in; excluding changes to setup of course.

Rubber tire carpet on an Xray? -- try the Losi Alfa.

Marc: Thanks for your advice lately. I should be getting some of those Hurricane's within a month or so. Good job today

Kaizen: Great meeting you I'll really consider the Losi Alfa next time I buy.

I'm gonna try this Nemesis Hick's handed me before I buy anything
